| I remember Andy Gatcliffe saying on BBC Manchester earlier this year that they were looking at filling the south stand with seats as a way of increasing capacity. I hope they don't do that, and I can't see it increasing the stadiums overall capacity by too much. Does anyone know what the south stand holds compared to the north?

| That would considerably reduce the South Stands capacity. Some years ago Middlesbrough increased the capacity from 29000 to 36000 by filling the corners in. Unfortunately crowds have now reduced considerably due to the lack of good football being played.

Warrington cannot currently fill the HJ for games against local rivals so why would they fill it at 18,000?'"
thats rich...you could`nt sell out your allocation for the semi at widnes...and you and saints did`nt fill the ground at saints in the play off....

| Fill the corners in regardless,
personally i'd turn the east stand into all standing turn the south into something similar to the Bevan stand at the Zoo and half the top 2 thirds seated bottom third standing and most importantly (Simon Moran take note)
hire an acoustics expert to maximise the sound

| Someone at the club should obviously have a word with themselves for wanting to improve our excellent stadium. Shame on them!

I don't think one play-off game in over 10 years has sold out so whats your point.
We didn't sell our allocation no, it was poor. I would rather have a higher average though and brag about that rather than bragging about selling out for a semi.

What was it like 8,000. Well all the play-off games were poorly attended so I don't see the issue. However we took loads to Hull KR and over 5,000 to saints.

| Must admit he's put a good argument forward on the Virtual Terrace and I agree with him. He's suggesting that every SL side picks one game and markets it like Wigan did for 'the big one' against Leeds. My thought is that we don't need to market the bigger matches, we could do it for one of the games that usually has a low attendance like Huddersfield or Cas. If every Club did it once a season there would be a significant rise in crowds.
Another one to think about was when Cas got sponsored travel to Quins and got an 8000 plus crowd in London. Bigger gates, more publicity, all good for the game.

Didn't wigan have cheaper tickets for that one? would be good if every game was advertised better.
18,000 stadium is a great idea sounds like they are going to build it up slowly to get to finally 18,000 builds on the success of last season an hopefully of seasons to come.
The club are clearly trying to tap in the one game a season fan base who made the trip to Wembley.

| 3 out of 13 games get no significant away support - Harlequins, Catalans and Celtic. Until we get those games filling in the West stand then attendance averages mean nothing

If I had to live in Millom I reckon I'd drift off into Cookoo Land every now and again as well.
My predictions this year included Chris Bridge to make the GB squad, and ourselves to win the Challenge Cup. I am no Nostradamus, but can see Warrington becoming bigger than any club bar Leeds by 2014.
