But contact with the head is illegal. That is why Hudds were awarded the penalty. I am suggesting that given the force of the illegal contact with the head, that his lip was split and he was actually dazed for a while, a ban would have been appropriate. I am quite sure you would have agreed with me if it had been Morley on the receiving end of the same tackle.

Was it even a penalty?
If so why wasn't the tackle on HH last year?
I've watched and playd rugby league for 25years and that has never been worthy of a penalty

Whereas to me there was no slipping involved.
Unfortunately, the RFL appeared to agree with you. I say unfortunately because if risky tackles are to be stamped out then those to the head more than any should be treated with zero tolerance due to the risk to life, never mind career.

I would have the same opinion i have now if it was any of our players.
No swinging arm, no penalty, no ban no fuss.
Move on

Thankfully, we no longer play to the rules of the game from 25 years ago. If we did, no doubt more players would be paralyzed from the neck down or dead.

So a shoulder to the head is not capable of snapping a person's neck then? Only a swinging arm?

I need someone to show me where it is written that Moz tackle is illegal?
And if so why wasn't he cited? if it was illegal then it was a clear offence.
It's not like a chicken wing where it can be argued about position, pressure etc etc, or bad camera angles because the footage was perfect.

Snapping someones neck ?
a little over the top there my friend. It would take much more that that to inflict the kind of injury you mention

blah blah blah! i'm sorry but your spouting tosh! using your shoulder is not illegal, if a player dips at the last moment and contact is made it always looks bad however no malice or intent was shown by morley, hence no ban.. move on!

If someone had done the same i'd have probably said 'sho'o'o'o'ot'

or Joel Tomkins on Myler last season at the DW. Even though that didn't result in any injury, how it didn't is anyones guess.

No I wouldn't. THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE TACKLE. Players get hurt sometimes when they get tackled. IT HAPPENS. The RFL know this, all sensible posters on here know this, you kn.... ahh ohhh...anyway

| My initial reaction in the stand was great tackle... Watching it on the big screen I thought "he's brown bread, but fair tackle" (P&B glasses no doubt) then watched it back the next day and it could be ruled either way...
McGillvary ducks his head at the last second into the tackle but not significantly lower that any contact would be high. At the same time Moz was committed to putting a hard shot on the winger but ended with the shoulder making contact with the head. Moz said he ducked to make the tackle but I disagree there. Personally I'd rule penalty sufficient. A ban would be extremely harsh.

I think the RFL are quite lenient. They even go as far as letting people off who fracture eye socket's. Nice guys.
