Ray Warren & his mates were unhappy that there was only one referee & the game was played under international rules (which he did very well) rather than NRL rules (which he tried to apply when reffing the WCC when the Aussies raved about him...).

I'll be a damn site more concerned with who the 17 from Bradford are than who is the man in pink/powder blue/green/black on Sunday - that has a hell of a lot more relevance to Wire.

i remember a few weeks back on a sky game , ganson was reffing and pulled up in training holding is calf and was swapped by the video ref dont know who the video ref was but he took gansons place whilst ganson was video ref

Bit harsh but judging by Silverwoods preformance at Odsal on Sunday, I don't think any Bulls fans will exactly welcome him with open arms. Missing one fwd pass on the way to the line is bad enough but two !!
Makes you wonder what the TJ's were looking at. One was right up with play and didn't give it.
If you p$ss him off he will cane you in the penalty count. The only answer is to stay onside and leap off the tackled man like a scalded bloody cat. What you can't legislate for is the petulant penalties he gives for not exactly standing square at marker. Oh yes, he gives every legitimate ball strip as a penalty and then misses blatant knock ons (like last Sunday). Get all this right and we'll be fine

Super League games over the past 3½ seasons we have won 4 [i(Quins and Giants away, Rovers and Salford at home)[/i and lost 14 [i(Bulls home and away, Catalan away, Quins at home, Rovers home and away, Saints home (x2) and away (x3), and Wigan home and away)[/i with Silverwood.

We are going to have to be very near to our best show near perfect discipline to stand a chance, and even then I think we will need the Bulls to make such blatent errors that there is no way Silverwood can miss them, or give the decision against us anyway.

Seriously guys. If we just keep our own discipline and concentrate on the 17 that Bradford field, we need not worry who the ref is.

I know referees are different in their games, but that's something we have to live with I'm afraid. All we need to do is force the errors and not give away daft penalties.

I never have a particular problem with a referee, so long as he calls it down the middle. Despite what some people say, I never see a referee who doesn't try to do anything but that. That's all that matters in a ref and the rest is up to the Wires.

Roll on Sunday, and get that Warrington ball into the semi-final draw bag.

And every one of those 14 was Silverwood's fault, nothing to do with opposition, injuries, lack of performance from Wire, improved performance from opposition? How many tries did Silverwood score or concede in those matches since you're so fond of statistics?

OK you''re right. The likes of Daniel Anderson didn't know what they were on about when they did everything they possibly could to make sure Saints weren't reffed by a certain ref ever again. Let alone the whole of the Australian international coaching and management staff when they do everything they possibly can to get a referee that they favour rather than a neutral one.

If you think who the ref is doesn't affect the way a game is played then you are deluded.

At last a voice of reason. I agree the ref can have a massive effect on how the game is allowed to flow or not as the case may be.
