It is slow, however with Monaghan at 7 it really doesn't matter, as everything stops with him anyway.

King and Johnson were two of our best players, yet it was down to their hard work and kick chases rather than any play drawing them into the game.

Anybody who thinks that Monaghan is dragged down by Briers needs their head checking. Without Briers we were clueless with the ball. When Bridge went off the field we lost any slight creativity that we had.

Briers and Bridge need to be given a chance, and stop playing that joker at 7. People say Briers is inconsistent, but Monas has probably had about 5 or 6 good games in all the time he has been with us. He has no craft about him whatsoever.

Hicks also needs to be removed from FB. I'd have been happier with King there today, at least he returns the ball well and doesn;t just jog along.

With a back 5 like that, we're only going to win games through a forward dominated attritional approach backed up by an excellent kicking game from the halves - position not possession. Bridge and Monaghan - I don't think so.

Give Smith time. He was always going to arrive for next season so be prepared to write this one off whilst he builds his own squad. Transition has commenced. Reardon and Gleeson have gone, there will be plenty more before we start to challenge.

I would say they deserved to win because when it mattered (the last ten minutes) they pinned us back on our goal line and we could not get out of our own half for numerous sets.

They tried to gift us a lead in the first half but we couldn't quite hold on to the ball, I recall Harrison fumbling a couple of times and the nonsense from Bridge when inside their ten was very frustrating.

Torturing yourself wont help him. When the times comes he'll be ready.

we were shoking on the day and Reds deserved to win. But why for 75 minutes did we play one suicide pass and a drive. When we threw the ball out wide, we scored near the end.

Definate improvement in defence, and with a team like Salford anyone could concede 18 points and still beat them. But we are never going to score with the tactics we used.
