He's a big unit, Dodds is a big unit, Hill is a big unit, sims is a biggish unit. Having a proper look at our forward pack and we have some proper solid grafters. Get these guys firing and throw in the speed and power of our new back row and we'll cause some damage. Get Harrison back in the fold plus Westwood and we don't have a weak pack at all. Add our back line we're looking good, I think because we haven't signed a big named forward I was hoping for I think I felt let down. But looking at our squad we're a lot better off then we were last year, the players we let go weren't world beaters so I'm gonna shut up and see what the new team can do.

you do realise that's not really a wanted list don't you?

out of those the only one we officially "made an enquiry about" was Sam Tomkins. Seriously when have we been in for Thurston or Inglis to name just two off that list





you can add Jacob Lillyman to that wanted list as well but again that was just a rumour.

So other than Tomkins the only real and non fantasy player we were interested in was Ukuma Ta'ai...he's not on that list and he opted for Huddersfield

its not lack of ambition (proof in Sandow Lineham & Westerman) to me its more like bad planning...

the Guardian headline was "Wire still in the hunt for Overseas prop" ...and we signed Jordan Cox.........crossing the humber???? I'm not sure technically that's overseas.

Dodds has had huge injuries, has already spoke of getting back to the NRL as fast as he can, and is injured for the start of the season

Its not Rocket Science to expect someone a bit better than Cox if we were looking overseas...

I think that they are too close to not be linked: if our ambition is to win the GF, then after 2 final appearances the squad should be stronger than in 2013 & 14 and, in my opinion, poor recruitment means it isn't.

Regardless of what I think of him personally, if we are not going all guns out to get Ferres I'll be disappointed.

We do seem to have a fair bit of cover in the 11,12,13 positions.
Westwood, Westerman, Hughes, Currie, Philbin, Laithwaite, Evans, Wilde. Harrison (when fit).
But Ferres is class.......

If we have that amount of cap space available I'd probably rather keep our powder dry and wait to see if someone comes available in a position we are more in need of (Centre / Prop)

No doubt Ferres is a very good player, but we have a young, talented back row that need game time.

If I remember, Paul Cullen wanted Ferris at Wire just before his resignation??

We don't need him so 1. I doubt we would sign him and 2. I doubt very much we have the money to sign him any way so bye bye ferres good look at Wigan or Leeds if you do get released. Unless they loan him out for a year till it all settles Down and welcome home back. Like castleford are doing with Carney.

Can't see that 2nd row is any sort of priority and can't believe we would have cap space (not that that would stop us ...obviously).

Going back to page 11.. Prop9824 was blatantly Anthony England wasn't he? Ever since he signed for Wakey he's been over on that board too....?

Excellent detective work. Although I suspect it is more likely his dad - he was always posting on facebook and having a go at anyone who said a bad word about his
son.

I have been impressed with Jordon however it still appears that his fitness needs to improve based on comments made by smith in the coaches corner things and also the fact that he does such a low amount of minutes. He is very good going forward and makes decent metres and no complaints about his defence - if we can get his fitness sorted and turn him into a 25 minute spell prop we will have a very good player on our hands.

I've been impressed too. I was never disappointed with his signing, I saw it as a good opportunity to sign a squad player on I presume a fairly modest contract who has potential.

He's certainly exceeded my expectations though. Yes he needs to play more minutes (although I think most of what TS says about him in the videos are a bit of banter). The time he spends on the pitch though are becoming increasingly more productive. Good start from the lad.
