Sounds very positive, hopefully we will see the best of Williams who is definitely our best player, but has so far been used wrong IMO. He's an incredible runner of the ball and his short kicking game is great. Game control isn't one of his greater strengths though so I'm hoping drinkwater and a pack that makes more ground will give Williams a much better platform to give us a shot on all fronts this season.

Craig Harrison has revealed Gale was twice lined up to join Wire.

Yes I saw that too from Harrison, although it seemed to both times be coming from Player / Agent rather than the club. Both times Warrington rejected it.

I thought Harrison said they’d been talks between them under SP tenure. Wire apparently went quiet. I would guess they had by then set sights on Williams.

It was never as a starting half. More of an experienced back-up costing very little on the cap. But not deemed necessary with the emergence of our own Academy player(s).

We were still talking to Gales agent this season as well. Obvious links with DP.

I'm surprised we were linked with him under Price. If we couldn't get Widdop and Austin firing in that team, what the hell were we expecting Gale to do? IMO Gale has only ever looked anything near a top quality halfback when under Powell... something that leaves me feeling encouraged for the coming season, considering Gale and Drinkwater aren't too far apart in terms of quality and role.

In Powell’s defence, vs Price, he has completely changed the whole environment in one difficult year. The task now is to back it up and win it, to prove that he was right to do so.

With Price, he kept a few influential figures
around and tried to add to , develop and improve what the club currently had. While we got close in his first year, that is about it. Price’s teams didn’t excite and didn’t deliver, but were consistently in the top 3/4. Steady Eddie. Would have made an excellent co-head coach… if such a thing exists, with someone who could get a team to score, say Rowley or similar.

Let's not forget ,we were awfully bad before Price came in ,Smith's candle had burned down to a smouldering wick by the time he moved on.

I kind of think it was not completely TS fault. Pre KF, TS had the full control of who he gets and how the show runs.
KF looks to have meddled in the recruitment when he got the job of CEO.
I feel SP was also restricted, DP looks to have called some high demands before accepting the Wire position and looks like he now has the power that TS once had under Gatcliffe.

Couple of assists for Riley Dean in fev's win over cas. I'm a massive fan of this lad and can't wait to see how he progresses playing under Sean long. Hoping for a Hayes at 7, Dean at 6 half back combo at wire in a few years.

Strictly speaking I'd say assists for all 5 tries. Two from kicks (one a bit lucky from a deflection, the other a beautifully-weighted one off the outside of the boot), two looped passes to his winger, and one a nicely-timed short pass for Kopczak.

Very good news. Championship rugby is pretty tough & obviously Featherstone are a top club.
Still trains at Wire. Will watch his games with great interest.
