Sorry, I think Saints have done very well this season with the injuries they have had. We have been very lucky this season, we are probably the only team that could rest five players at this stage of the season and still win away. The point was actualy, that it reminds me of Saints from a few seasons ago.

A win, but not enough. Saints will do the job tomorrow and secure second.

I know we're not in a position to really moan given the leaps we've made since last year league wise, but I just hate going to Knowsley Road! But as I've already said, if we have to go there and win next week, then so be it.

I was under the impression we dont have to win next week.

If we lose next week against Saint, we then play at home the weekafter against somebody like HullKR, possibly Huddersfiles, maybe even Leeds (depending on results) for a place in the semi finals (away). If we beat Saint then we are straight into the semi finals and also home advantage

We have to beat Castleford yet, though, and with our distinctly inconsistent approach this season along with their determination to get into the top eight then a win today is in no way guaranteed regardless of our history with them. Hull KR hadn't beaten us at Knowsley Road for something like 52 years up to last season, when they did the double on us! Potter's men are full of surprises so you may well have second spot by the end of the night. I'm not counting my chicks anyway.

Quite. We lost against Hull KR the week after the Easter Weekend where we won both matches for the first time in years.

We lost against Catalans in France - wow. We have won there once!

The more significant loss was really Wigan at home. That was inches away and would have put us level on points with Wigan.

Instinct is one thing, fielding a heavily-altered team is another. The side took time to gel last night but still played well, and Harlequins didn't roll over and die, either, they worked hard to keep their loyal supporters happy, amd played some good rugby.

Enjoyed it yesterday. Bridge was my MOTM. We never got out of second gear tbh.

That was the attitude Huddersfield and Hull KR took to Saints and Leeds last year. They were both on end-of-season parties by the end of the second week of the play-offs.

It wasn't a case of accepting mediocrity merely pointing out theres no need for panic yet. Everyone seems to be treating the game as the be all and end all but it isnt.

Maybe, maybe not, but I'd say we are far more serious challengers than they were and if we did lose against St Helens, then I'd be pretty confident of winning the following week.

If fact, if i was Tony i would probably remind them that this game isn't life and death. We all know the history between the clubs and maybe knowing that will enable us to play some beautiful ree flowing rugby without the stress and panic that usually comes with it. Who knows, relieving them of that stress maybe is what we need to finally do it.

Agreed. Just saying that if we go there thinking "we can afford to get beat", then we almost certainly will. And there is a significant advantage in winning.
