Well only time will tell, we will have to see. He,s been the best player in super league by a country mile for the past 5 years, and people talking about his build well brett hodgson was,nt the biggest full back and he did ok in the nrl.

| He's played ok by his own standard, no more and no less. He has been pretty solid in defence aside from his error that he got away with yesterday and is 2nd I believe for try assists in the competition.
As an England fan I'm excited more then worried that the guy has more to give. He can and will play better IMO and if we want to do something in this world cup all fans need to get behind him and the side. He is a special talent and along with Sam Burgess has that X factor that could take us to a shock victory against an Australian side at Old Trafford (if we pull of a bit of a shock win against the Kiwis).

| Undeniably brilliant in his time here, but I don't think it's unreasonable to suggest he's probably going to struggle early doors in Aus. Near enough every aspect of his game will have to get better for him to succeed like he has in SL, but I'm sure he knows that and he's moved with the intention to do so. Good on him for taking the risk, he's clearly determined to maximise his potential, if only some of our other players had done so rather than sit in their comfort zone for their careers.

| He is England's top metre maker, clean break maker and try assister at the World Cup.
He can play better yes, but he's hardly doing badly.

| Maybe Tomkins only looked good because he was playing in one of the greatest teams of all time in Shaun Wane's double winning Wigan team.
Anybody could look good running off the quality they have through their side.
Its like Offiah, would he have got so many tries if he'd played for us?

Most of those meters and breaks were against a terrible, terrible Ireland side. He is a quality player though just a bit of an idiot.

Sorry boys, got to agree with Ganson's and the Pie Eaters. I think he's one hell of a player. OK, he made a couple of errors on Saturday, but he also made a couple of fabulous takes under pressure. I'd love to see him in the P and B.

| Many times we ask why the international game is under valued. I think supporters should look at themselves before blaming anything else. It doesn't matter who did or didn't do well it should be that we won or lost as a team not a blame culture because a player from a team we don't like! For years people have been moaning about how poor Sinfield is for England now they have found another name to bemoan. Give it a rest and support your national team, club loyalties in the cupboard please until the RLWC is over

| Tomkins is world class.
If we had two half backs in his class we might have a chance but, as it is, I do not think so.
I would have loved to see him in P&B because, after all, The Wire were his boyhood team. In spite of the media saying he is a Wiganer

World class? Slater is world class, Tomkins is nowhere near!
He's cack under the high ball, not as solid/reliable in defence as Wellens and Radlinski used to be, doesn't make as many clean breaks as people think he does or should, mouths off and whinges at the ref all game.
The only thing he has that you would say he is good at is he is a good runner in broken play - but only done that in SL against some mediocre defences. In the international game, he's just not doing it cos he's not good enough.
Don't get me wrong, he's better than anything else England have, but if he's the best then it really does prove how far away we are in the talent pool to Aus and NZ.

Exactly my point, well said, now lets see how he performs next year, if he does well in the NRL I will eat my words and congratulate him, but in the meantime, let's all get a life!
