| Effort was there again and we did some good things. We get a week off and when we come back we'll have Williams, Nicholson, Ashton,Thewlis and Wrench back. So we're looking stronger after the break and it will freshen up the forwards and help recover from bumps n bruises etc
Bring on Wakefield

I’ll go and find some more straws to clutch.'"
No this is very true. We could still have a home defeat in the playoffs to look forward to.

| So we have more stories of players wanting out. So my question is do we lose the fore mentioned players or lose the coach, now I’m no fan of player power that’s just wrong but in our current situation what do you do.

Well you've had 5 hilarious weeks then. What a strange way to watch your team (imo), but a delightful way to embrace defeat.
Either that or Stockholm syndrome

I guess people are upset and hurting after a defeat to our bitter rivals, watching a team they have followed for a lifetime. Sport is like that, it arises passions. Maybe we are all not as sophisticated as you and let our base emotions run wild at these times. At least it is honestly expressed and from the heart. I like that - its natural and human.
Anyway each to their own and I suppose it is some comfort to us all that you are enjoying yourself laughing at "us lot".

So much player unrest it seems. Never known anything like it. But them. No player is bigger than the club and if they don't like it they can buy themselves out of their contract and do one.

| I wish I was posting everyday about a club I didn’t really give a poop about whilst overlooking the Med. I would then be financially and rationally superior to the ruddy lot of you. Please don’t look in Crowe Ave, I don’t live there.

The arrogance on him thinking he can just stroll back to Wigan is astounding. We were gutted to lose him but have moved on and are developing other forwards.
He should have been patient and had faith that Wigan knew how to develop him.
Making him an 80 minute player week in week out at his age probably wasn’t the way to go hence the injuries he’s had.
He’ll stick around a Wire until the NRL want him I reckon

You’re wasting your time mate. We could lose every game from now till the end of the season and there’s a couple on here who would still defend them. You have to remember this is a very, very average Wigan team and they ran away with it.
Barring Thewlis, Ashton, Wrench, Williams, Walker, Vaughan I would you really be that bothered if any others left?

| How do we recruit quality players when we're playing crap and have a well below expectations of a clueless management setup.
Fitzgibbon I reckon will end up at an NRL club next season saves him stating he's homesick when he realises he's coming to a nsw quality team.
It's just rank....

| I'm really losing patience in Powell, he was supposed to bring a change of culture, yet the same negatives are still evident that have been there for years, apart from a few years of the Tony Smith era. Making things easy for the opposition with stupid penalties or unforced errors, clueless in attack in the opposition 20m, lack of game management and the inability to turn the screw on a team once ahead.
I still wouldn't feel confident with us 10 points ahead with 15 minutes to go against any team in the league just now.
I can't see next season being any better.

| The missing players excuse was justified a few weeks ago, when we had a lot of forwards out and couldn’t really compete against bigger, better packs. Last night we were missing a winger, a stand off and a second row.
The pack got dominated, our kicking game was non-existent and we were ill disciplined throughout. A bit of Clark brilliance made a game of it in the first half, but once they got into stride we couldn’t keep up with them in any area. I

| Quote To suggest dropping him after he is still returning, both physically and mentally, from such an injury is bizarre. An upheaval in key positions that would be changed back just as partnerships are forming doesn’t make sense. It could also lead to the player looking at exit options earlier, thinking that no one wants him at the club. '"
Quote from an online article re: Lewis Dodds at Saints, his return from injury, criticism from fans and return to form. The St Helens club and coaching staff stood by him throughout.
Personally, I think Dodds is pretty average but that isn't the issue. Until we start nurturing our youngsters as opposed to scapegoating them, we are doomed to fail.
We are pretty spoilt for reasons to dislike the club currently, but personally I [idetest[/i the treatment the like of Dean has received.

| Missing backs would improve things but only one forward missing. Our so-called super pack couldn't handle a fitter and faster outfit whose average age is years younger than ours. Same old story. They develop we get a bunch of over 30s

| Thankfully, Clark ,Russell & one or two others had a go last night against Wigan who stayed in second gear most of the night. They could have hammered us but only opened up when they needed to. Once again we were losing too much ground in defence too many times,

Good effort from your pack in the first half, particularly the line speed in defence but it was inevitable that they would run out of steam.
