I have no doubt that there will be a large crowd from Leigh; they may even outnumber the Wire fans, although surely we'll get at least 5000 of us there. However, I also have no doubt that there will be no contest in the level of noise with Leigh kicking our butts on that one. Even if we end up running away with it, I bet in the 75th minutes, they are all partying and we are coming out with some feeble renditions of "She wore..."

Leigh have 200 tickets left for the West stand as of Saturdays close. Would it be possible to overspill into the West side of the South stand to meet demand??

I'd be surprised if they let you in the South Stand, at least officially. You'll be able to get in there on the day anyway.

Thought they may cordon a block off to avoid any chaos on the day

Pity this mighty army of fans never used to turn up home or away last time you were in SL.

When your side is getting thrashed week in and week out as ours was in 2005 only the regulars stick by the team.

Our home average that season was just over 4800 and us regulars went to the away games too.

I am sure that what ever the result come the end of the game both sets of supporters will wish the others all the best for the semi, unlike the experience coming away from Hull last Friday. You wont get vile intimidating aggressive spew shouted at you as you leave the ground.
On a side note thanks to the rovers fans before the game that appreciated the fact that getting to Hull on a Friday night is not that easy and thanked us for making the effort.

Come on Wire fans, I know we are not playing well at the moment but its times like this that the team needs the support, get down on Saturday.

I think most leigh fans will be happy if we keep the score close because if Warrington hit the form they can they could quite easily blow us away,saying that if they dont leigh will give it a good go so u never know on the day but one things for sure we'll have a party and enjoy the occasion

Golden Square is a five minute walk and it's only £2.20 for 2-4hours or £5.50 for 4+ hours. There are also places even closer to the ground, one on Tanners Lane just near the Three Pigeons pub that's about a fiver.

Doubt it. South Stand is always well filled.

Really looking forward to this game don't for one minute think we will win, but we will have a great day out and it will show how far we have come and what we need to aspire to if we get into SL anytime soon, really like Wire and if I had a SL club it would probably be Warrington. Thought it may solve a problem. There will be pay on the day in Wires sections so Leigh fans without tickets will go in there anyway and make their way towards the West and the bulk of the fans

plenty to chose from within spittin distance of the ground you go the original wire the rodney kings head three pigeons or its a 5-10 min walk into the town centre where there is plenty

So much for the alleged request from Leigh for the south stand allocation. As of this week they have actually sold around 2000 tickets. The west stand will be plenty big enough and some.

To be fair that is very good considering them being a championship outfit a lot of superleague clubs wont bring as much support

This thread brings back memories of when Hull and Hull KR used to say "prepare for an invasion" Then less than 1000 would turn up.

To be fair it's only Maurice coming up with the inflated figures; I think he sometimes goes too far in emulating his namesake!

We've sold 2,200 so far mind and the ticket office is opening late all week to cope with continued demand which is encouraging. Should be a cracking atmosphere, I'm sure.

Would think anyone with a dose of realism will know that we'll do well to get within 20 points, but you never know.

We have played Warrington away twice in recent years and you will probably find your quote is a little unfair.

We took over 3000 to Wilderspool in the early naughties for the QF of the CC and well over 2500 for the SL season in 2005 when Wire pipped us 26-22. The crowd was over 11500. After all, it was our first away game of the season and none of knew what would unfold !!



As already stated, we averaged just under 5000 that season getting wallopped week in and week out. In todays terms, that aint too bad at all !!

Some folk just don't like a 'small club' having good times/being on an upward spiral do they ? Can't wait for Saturday...win/lose/get stuffed. But our priority is the 'middle 8's' this season, and the next season etc.... assuming we don't make it into SL this time. For us Leythers, Saturday is just a day to 'enjoy' (unless we lose 80-0 like Wakefield did) but for Warrington (and I fully understand this) the challenge cup is your best chance of getting to a final this year, and you feel like you NEED to win this game. My prediction is Wire 44 Leigh 20 - hope I'm wrong !!!!
