Does it, or do we just promote Glenn Riley to that 5th/6th choice prop position? Riley certainly has the size, do we start to use him more at the expense of Cooper for the rest of the year?
If Moz were to leave however we certainly will be in the market for a new prop.
Best of luck to Coops.

| Good on him for wanting to try and better himself, in a league which is for superior to ours.
Makes you wonder why more young lads, aren't wanting to their luck over in Australia.

Glen Riley and Danny Bridge can step up if they play to the same standard as they did against Bradford and they will get better Moz can take his time ! He will be off to Salford at the end of the season anyway and Riley is already an adequate replacement for Moz imo

Glad to 'see' you back, but, you can't be serious about Riley filling Morley's boots starting right now?
Despite rumours of his home coming to Salford and even with the onset of age I hope to welcome Morley back for a block busting season finale (bicep busting recovery dependant of course)

Why won't he be up to it? Not every NRL forward is an international, nor even state-of-origin player. The St George management obviously think he's worth a shout. I think he's underrated here - this two years may change his career for good, and I congratulate him and the Wire club on arranging a very good move.

| I think he'll do well. He's a grafter, has improved his defence massively and has good pair of hands with good footwork, always manages a quick PTB. I think they'll develop him into a better player.
It's a similar move to when Luke Burgess went to the NRL, not many gave him a chance, but he's made a good go of it.
Good luck Mike.

| Good luck to him, whatever my view on his abilities I'd never have a go at anyone for wanting to better themselves, leave their comfort zone and challenge their abilities.
It presents us with an opportunity to change the squad, and potentially look at a different style of forward if we choose to do so, safe in the knowledge that we have first call on someone who is likely to come back a better player.

Do these emerging English players that go to Australia really develop more?
I know the likes of Morley, Ellis, Burgess have done well there, but they were already top players by the time they went.
A fair few emerging players like Thorman, Sibbit, Edmondson, Mathers, Tansey have gone over to the NRL, they have played a handful of games, and come back to SL but they didn't come back on a different level as a player in fact most of those you could say made less of an impact on SL after they came back.

| Article in the Guardian...TS said because Cooper is off to Oz & another 2 or 3 forwards are out of contract that we could well be signing players if the right ones are available ,apart from promotions from within.

There were a lot of credible rumours around that he was going to sign for us prior to him going to the NRL.
We shall see.

I thought he had two years on his contract ? He would suit me, we need someone with a bit of mongrel and attitude. Someone with a bit of bite in the tackle.

| Wigan will lose their full back at the end of the year but now understand the value of older players. So we should sell them Bert and use the money to buy Ron Weasley, with a bit left over for Benji Marshall.
