No I'm not, but it was a careless technique that could have caused very serious injury. If I (and the RFL) thought it was deliberate, he'd be looking at a much, much worse punishment.

Against Hull KR which is the only game we can really judge them on i`d say they looked solid rather than being spectacular, they didn`t create a great deal with ball in hand, it was the kicks from Sam Tomkins that did the damage. Apart from the Amos Roberts break away try near the end they didn`t really open up Hull KR that often with ball in hand.
It was a bit similar to us really, we didn`t create a lot with ball in hand, it was mainly our kicks that did the damage, we then had the Lee Briers interception and the last try at the end where he wanted to drop a goal but was closed down quickly forcing him to run to his left where he found Richie Myler who took his try brilliantly.
Our pack offers more than theirs does along with our hookers, we just need to get the backs like Atkins and Bridge into play a bit more as we have an in form winger outside of Chris Bridge and Matt King is always a threat with his height and power close to the line.

Agreed.
I'd say we have an in-form centre too Rob, last week Bridge was electric against Quins, and on Sunday again, he was our most dangerous back. He's the most 'dynamic' of our backs by a mile.

both were malicious, pre empted and should both carry a ban, a ref with balls would have sent them both off.

I agree, most people especially the media focus on our big name signings (Riley apart because 5 tries by one player is headline news) yet its players like Chris Bridge who quietly get on with their job and impress under the radar so to speak. If our backline clicks it has the potential to be play spectacular RL, i know which backline i would take out of the 2 teams meeting on saturday and i know which set of forwards i`d take.

I'm asking her Rob, rather than sort of, how can I put it 'trying to get one up' so take it that way.
Have you changed your views on Bridge now ? You appear to have.
You were firmly in the camp of 'jack of all trades', even recently you saw him as solid as oppose to 'class' and we sort of disagreed, I know it's only two games in like, but is he winning you over ?

No ive not changed my views on him, i just think he`s a fairly solid centre rather than being a match winner on a regular basis.
I view types of centres in this way.
1. You have the Bateman, Davies and Blake type centres, highly skilful and very nimble footed and can step past the opposition in the blink of an eye with a great turn of foot.
2. You then have the power type centres with the likes of Joe Ropati and Keith Senior as good examples, that type of centre will quite often run straight over their opposite number or use a powerful hand off to create the break.
3. You then have the ultimate world class centres that can combine both the above like Mal Meninga, Mark Gasnier, Jamie Lyon (At his peak) and Greg Inglis just to name a few.
You then have ones that i would class as solid centres like Bridge and Yeaman, they just quietly get on with things and do the basics well rather than being in the above catagories.
That just leaves the likes of Paul Sykes to their own unique catagory

I know where you're coming from.
I think he's a 1.
I think he'll show over time that he is exactly that, perhaps not to the class of the folk that you mention, but the best '1.' in the competition currently, and that's what you have to strive to be.

| JWP, the thing with RL as you know is you will always get differing views, you will also get fans that appreciate differnt styles of player. I was spoilt growing up as i got to see the likes of Blake, Davies, Bateman and Ropati etc, we didn`t always have the best of teams back then but we certainly had some great moments from the above 3.
I`m not having a go at Chris Bridge in any way, i think he`s a solid centre thats had to put up with quite a bit injury wise, he deserves to have a long run in the team in the one regular position because its hard for any player to improve when your being chopped and changed around so much and then having a couple of bad injuries on top of that, better coaching should help him as well.
Its better viewing him after a full season in the team in a regular position, him and Riley have done great so far on the right and they both look solid in defence.

i think they will both recieve a one game ban but dnt agree with moz being banned as he was commited and was just one of those things. However i'm not sure about Carvells you could say it was accedental but then again you could say it was careless and stupid.

| Think it's ludicrous to say we are not significantly weakened, probably close to terminally, if we lose them both. Cooper and Wood will do well as starting props but we WOULD be far, far weaker than normal at the interchange. If Solomona is fit, then he and Westwood would presumably be the rotating props as I doubt we'd bring Adam Neal in as well. If that happens and we have Higham as one of the other interchanges, then we'd still have Grix and Vinnie or McCarthy as other replacements. Not a bad pack and replacements, but significantly weaker than normal. If they are banned for two weeks, then they'd miss Huddersfield which might actually be worse for us....

| I just hope Gareth Carvell has got something else lined up for his defence tomorow because his usual reply of "innit" or "innit just" won`t go down too well at Red Hall
