We should have. We have shipped enough players out.
Our big earners you would imagine are
Widdop
Williams
D Clarke
then a middle rank of
Cooper
Charnley
King
Currie
Ratchford
Maybe we are paying some players too much for the value we derive.

| I'm interested to see what Powell does with Philbin. I hope he's not another of the contract cursers who drop performance after a lengthy deal.
He may have been found out by the opposition or may have been coached incorrectly, but has the opportunity to make himself heir to throne after Coops.

| Cooper & Mulhern starting with Philbin, Bullock, Butler, J.Clark and Doro look like our Prop forwards next year. + Harrison coming back in to the fold around June/July.
I think Clark will get another year just so we're not even worse off in the forwards. I think he will bounce between 13 and Prop next year.
We must have some money left to be interested in Evans, i'd rather us sit on the money and see what happens as the year goes on. As he's clearly of to Hull is Evans
I'm very interested to see what happens with the Currie, Holmes and Hughes second row Triangle next year.
If it was me i'd put Holmes at 12 and Hughes at 13. Holmes and Currie are both left edge second rowers but i wouldn't move Currie from there.

| He's a second rower though and unless Currie, Holmes, Hughes are injured or being rested i don't think he will get much game time to be honest.
Just randomly remembered we still have Keiron Brand on our books. I assume he's gonna come back in to the fold? Or will we loan him out again, as i can't see him making the team anytime soon.

| I thought letting George King leave was a drop bollox.
I still think it was a dropped bollox.
I heard we had offered him only half the money he was currently on at the time. Perhaps coming back from injury too soon gave him a lull in form and an offer to reflect the status quo…
He was easily our best prop once he had got his match fitness up. If it were me, I’d be buying him back. We couldn’t live with him in the play off.

| I don't agree that letting George King go was a mistake. He was an average player when released and he remains one.

Partially agree with you regarding George King.
The problem is that the player that we signed to replace him with was Lama Tasi................

| George King would have been better than keeping Akauola in my oppinion.
Just remembered we still have Ellis Robson, I hope he gets more game time next year. He's very aggressive and hits hard in attack, he can do a solid job as a prop but better at 2nd row maybe 13.

| Ellis Robson / George King .. don’t think there is that much between them tbh.
We should be aiming higher for a big body like Kasiano, Paasi, Satae etc

George King is a lot better than Robson, Robson has shown nothing so far, I'm not saying he won't mind you. King is established as a solid superleague prop and a much, much better player at this stage.
Spot on in the second sentence though. Totally agree, not necessarily a huge unit but we need someone who makes ground and is hard to handle.

I mean in terms of having an impact on the game and making big yards/big tackles etc etc yeah GKing is a lot more established as a player but your getting much of a muchness with them both.
A big mobile prop that can have an impact on the game is what we should be looking for, at the end of the day neither of them two above offer that for me.

There are many, many props I'd have at Warrington before him though, like Bullock, he's no Hill replacement.

This, a prop needs to be capable of doing a 40 minutes stint to be of any use really these days.

He played 80 minutes at Catalans once, and regularly put in 40 min stints he can put a shift in if you get his head in gear. I don't think we'll bring another prop in looking at the wider picture though, I think it will be Jason Clark filling in from time to time?

| I think we have learned by now that signing big lumps for the sake o& it just doesn’t work. If you look at our most effective props in recent times none of them have been huge. Hill, Cooper, Sims (yes he was effective) Morley, all big men but with an engine. Carvell was probably the biggest (haven’t checked his vital stats) but again wasn’t a 7 minute a half prop.

The irony is the "we need a new prop" statement when in reality is no-one can really suggest many/any viable options, hence "George King" - but some will no doubt lambast the CEO of he doesn't pull one out of a hat.

He will deserve it for tying up cap space in another ywar for Jason Clark IMO. We need that space for a prop. Unless Jason Clark is going to be used in the front row next season? He could probably do alright there to be fair. I don't want to see him in the second row again though

| That Paasi has looked decent all season and played well in the Grand Final. Made an impact off the bench and made 70 metres and did 19 tackles. How do Saints find these players yet we constantly sign crap like Latu, Tasi and Sita etc?

| Jason Clark is not a prop, in fact he's not a 2nd row either. Get rid.
