True...i noticed it and a lovely moment and great gesture! It's a pity it wasn't mentioned by the beeb.

The beeb would probably report it as "Riley's boot end up making physical contact with spectator". It was a really nice gesture. The young lad is a regular in the south stand.

Even though i was at the game, after watching it on i-player (after a load of ale!) i must admit to feeling a bit emotional. Made me very proud of our club did Chris, now my son's favourite player whether he likes it or not!!!!

When I saw him start running it thought he was going to his dad like he does after every game but no. He gave the lad his boots which looked like new boots too.

I got chatting to the older man who is the Grandad of the lad Riley gave his boots to outside the Chapel House pub in Great Sankey on the night of the match at Wigan a few weeks ago.

That guy deserves a special mention too because from what he was telling me it is obvious he gives 150% to make sure his Grandson can enjoy following Warrington under evidently very difficult circumstances.

Yes, actually. It happens a lot. I remember the entire Everton team throwing their playing jerseys into the away fans at West Brom one year as a gesture of thanks after a poor start to the season. And Martin Laursen buying every Aston Villa fan who travelled to his last game at the club a Villa shirt with his name and number printed. Set him back a few grand. Drop in the ocean to his bank balance, of course, but a nice gesture all the same.
