To go along with the over-rated players thread, which players in SL are under-rated do you think? Id have to say Whiting at Hull FC, Riley at Warrington and Ben Fisher at Hull KR. Thoughts...

Louis anderson. If and when (god i hope it's not for a while yet) he leaves us he will walk into the starting 13 of one of the top nrl clubs. How many second rowers in sl could you say that about and yet even wire fans don't seem to give him the credit he deserves. And before anybody makes a smart alec reply, yes i know he was poor under cullen. Who wasn't?

MS, louie is not at all underrated, hes our resident workhorse and we wouldnt be as good as we are without him in the side!

cant be sure with wigan, as soon as a player makes a pass at wigan hes the next superstar! a lot of their squad are overrated by their fans!

haha widders is a poor poor mans solomona, and dixon is a workhorse, never shy of a tackle or taking a hit up! so imo one for the future and possibly underrated by both saints fans and the new coach! but well see!

Clough at Saints is a good un, who doesn't get the plaudits of a Wilkin. Knows where the try line is too (much to our cost a couple of years ago)

Richie Myler, he seems to score plenty of tries for a young lad but has got this reputation as being overrated, so that makes him underrated

The most under rated player in SL is Brett Ferres from Cas Tigers,he is a very tough and skilful player.

Yeaman played well the other night for Hull against Leeds I thought.

Paul Jackson and Stuart Jones won the game for Castleford last night but Stevo and Eddie only have eyes for Rangi Chase (who is very good, no question).

Jackson had a good game for cas, as did huby. Think sean gleeson always found the try line at wakey. Mossop at the pies is a worker and cant argue with elimas work rate either at bratford

Ben Jones-Bishop. If he was in a Wigan shirt their fans would be shouting from the rooftops that they have 'the next Radlinski.' He's big and strong, decent set of hands and quick. Fingers crossed that players like him, Charnley, Arundel and Watkins can come through to international 'class' as to me they have the potential.

For me Mr Lunt of Huddersfield, thought that for a couple of seasons now

jones bishop good shout very impressed with him so far this season. mathers??? a lot of things rarely get noticed like organisation and his motivation techniques.

another would be rangi chase, great player one of the best halves in sl and playing at castleford.

I would say they are underated! When you consider (probably) neither of these will be considered for England come the end of the season, yet we will still be passing around names like Peter Fox, Lee Smith and Paul Wellens for the backs and Danny Tickle, Jamie Jones-Buchannan and dare I say it Gareth Hock for the forwards. For me, these guys have had the chance to nail down a jersey and failed. Lets get these younger players into the team environment at a national level and give them a fighting chance of gelling partnerships ala Queensland (Slater, Lockyer, Thuston, Smith) and stick with it, show a little faith in the longterm development.
