| Well that should give ~9000 people plenty of room to stretch out in.

| In 5 years time IMO ourselves and Leeds will be the two biggest clubs in the country.
Hopefully we will soon start to sell out the HJ on a regular basis, and then expansion will become a necessity.

I'm guessing they are speculating on increasing the attendances year on year.

I hope Warrington do become much bigger, it will be great for the game, I love how you say Leeds and not Wigan though

Seriously where is the need, have I posted anything out of order on this thread?
My point is valid, even one of your own fans has made the same point.

We get huge gates against Saints and Leeds so why miss out on this extra cash and atmosphere moving to a smaller stadium, that would be stupid.
Warrington cannot currently fill the HJ for games against local rivals so why would they fill it at 18,000?

I hope all teams grow and that they all see crowds growing and those in "smaller" grounds do sell out more often and have to look at expanding.

| With the capacity only actually at 13,024 we do need to expand if we carry on our success.
Our average attendance this year was 5th best in the league only behind Leeds, Wigan, Hull and Saints.
Our lowest attendance this year was 7,854 against Celtic, we were bottom of the league so home fans were put off and there were hardly any away fans. A few years ago an attendance like that at Wilderspool would have been brilliant, now it's seen as a disappointment.
So now with some success and hopefully more to come I would like to see the stadium expand, they could start by filling the corners at the North East and South East with seated stands. There would be more noise with the East Stand being more connected to the North and South stands.

You would have to do more work than that to make it 18,000 though.
I hope if they do it, it gets used for more internationals.

I think is ultimately behind their thinking. Get some use out of it in the close season.

That is so true. I wish they would fill the corners of Robin Park in just with anything, just metal or something just to keep the atmosphere in.
Although saying that our place is electric when full and so is the HJ.

| I remember Andy Gatcliffe saying on BBC Manchester earlier this year that they were looking at filling the south stand with seats as a way of increasing capacity. I hope they don't do that, and I can't see it increasing the stadiums overall capacity by too much. Does anyone know what the south stand holds compared to the north?

| That would considerably reduce the South Stands capacity. Some years ago Middlesbrough increased the capacity from 29000 to 36000 by filling the corners in. Unfortunately crowds have now reduced considerably due to the lack of good football being played.

| Fill the corners in regardless,
personally i'd turn the east stand into all standing turn the south into something similar to the Bevan stand at the Zoo and half the top 2 thirds seated bottom third standing and most importantly (Simon Moran take note)
hire an acoustics expert to maximise the sound

I don't think one play-off game in over 10 years has sold out so whats your point.
We didn't sell our allocation no, it was poor. I would rather have a higher average though and brag about that rather than bragging about selling out for a semi.
