There's rumours all over twitter tonight suggesting that the club are to announce Steve Price is leaving at the end of the season.

So there's at least 8 months to sort out a successor, but if we check back in 12 months KF might still be in Oz looking for someone.

He's got steak and ale running through his veins so I highly doubt he'd come, but I bet he'd do a job

He seems a nice guy that is very family orientated and certainly puts the hours in, but I can't say I am disappointed he is leaving.

Don't think it's so restrictive compared to football. A job is a job in rugby league and people take them if they're well-paid or an interesting challenge.

Timing is strange, can't think of an official announcement like this before a season has started.

Who choses who's contract gets extended, pick's up the pre contract talks with the free agenta in 2022 during this year.

When is Madge's contract up?

So that puts dampener on the season before it's even begun , i mean i'm not really bothered to see the back of him but will he really care how well this season pans out

Shaun Wane all day for me,get him signed for when the World Cup is done,we on here often ripped him but all said and done he knows how to win and will carry no passengers.

Good luck to him. I can't see this causing any real problem for the club. It gives the club plenty of time to plan a replacement.
The move back home, with his family, makes sense.

It might be sooner if the season doesn't start well, now he's essentially handed his notice in.

Why are you disappointed? Why would anyone pretend they are staying? It's much simpler to be honest.

Think it’s more that if we have a bad run of form fans will be asking him to be sacked immediately if he’s going anyway but on the other hand hopefully he takes a ‘leash off nothing to lose approach’ and we actually try to score tries this season.

Should that be the case (and let's hope it isn't), then I can see Henderson as a temporary coach until whoever the intended replacement is, takes the reins in 2022.

Certain fans would demand he leave straight away given a bad run of results even if he hadn’t announced he was leaving.

Respect to him for giving so much notice, it will be the end of his contract anyway. Good luck to him, he's given us some great moments and they are what I prefer to remember. Must have been difficult for him and his family in a foreign country in a pandemic. Don't forget there's another season yet.

I do worry what effect it would have on the players though. It might be a case of 'who cares, I'm not really playing for my future until the new guy gets here'.

Can't see him seeing the season out. His authority is weakened because players know he will soon be gone, first sign of trouble he'll have "what do you care, you're leaving?" vibes to contend with.

These things rarely work out.
