Yet you saw and managed to penalise and sin bin Warrington players for high tackles, two of which were across the collar and one was under the arm pit.

He allowed constant second or third man purposeful knees in tackles by Catalans, constant second or third man purposeful landing on heads in tackles, knees in the face, ripping off head guards, head high shots by Catalans set after set after set after set all game and creating an air of violence.

It caused all the second half fighting, it caused the fighting in the stands.

I was after beating someone up I was so angry and I was only sat at home!

Catalans and McNamara are also to blame as it was their tactics to rough Wire up, as are the lads in the stands who didn’t have to fight. But it was all down to the referee and his officials allowing the dirty tactics by Catalans.

It definately didn't cause the fighting in the stands. Regardless of how bad a referee is, it shouldn't cause scenes like what we've seen tonight. Posts like this just brings the trolls to our board, like the inbreed above.

I get your frustration with Child though. He had no control of the game from the first whistle. There was 14 referee's on the pitch tonight. The 1 in black spent 80 minutes being told what to do by the 13 in white.

The standard of referee'ing, like what we've just seen, is exactly why I've fallen out of love with the sport. Glad I didn't go.

In our first set with the ball in the game, one of our players was punched in the face on the floor and two tackles had knees in from their players... Unpunished!.. and that was the first set and set the tone for the game.

Plus it’s the knock-on effect. The air of violence was set for the night with that first set and the ref doing nothing, and doing nothing again and again and again for horrendous Catalan tactics. There were running battles on the pitch and it feeds into the stands.

A mate messaged me and said the Catalans fans threw something from the boxes at the Wire fans who were protesting against the ref and the Catalan players - which hit a kid.

Imagine coming on to another teams board straight after an incident to troll. No doubt you were sat infront of your tv with your pants round your ankles and couldn't get to your phone or laptop quick enough to register your faux-outrage.

Ref has got nothing to do with your fans.

I've seen teams going blow for blow but the fans have always kept it in check.

What about the Catalan fans

Child could have dealth with it better by sending players off earlier. Chris Hill and Kenny Edwards in particular. I've never seen a player get away the disrespect Hill does. He is oblivious to everything the referee says and always talks back, always inane, childish nonsense.

The whole game was a shambles. Your discipline was every bit as bad as Catalans. In games like that, it's easy to beat them just by being really disciplined and taking the stream of penalties you get. But the truth is Warrington under Price are becoming Catalans MKII. It's like you have no confidence in your ability so just grub and niggle your way through games. Warrington as a club and team should be above that and talent wise should be beating teams like Catalans without descending to that level.

He reffed the game terribly both Jill n mcclorum should never have been sin binned. He lost control and catalans were getting away with a lot from little niggly stuff to sliding knees.

But we fell for it and resorted to their level.

Agreed, I'm fed up of it! I'm really dissapointed with wire this season, Chris Hill has always annoyed me as captain, he spends too much time whingein and it puts him off his game. Poor discipline, poor intent, poor execution and dull, dull, dull. I really think the team should have bee mixed up a bit tonight, don't see why it wasn't. Our first choice team will be getting shattering going in to the business end and nobody is playing for their shirt! We are awful.

The nonsense in the stands just adds to the embarrassment I feel for the team right now. I can't help but feel that doesn't happen if fans aren't so frustrated with our crap rugby.

At the moment were all a bit aggrieved at what we think went on. What the officials need to do now is calm down and review the game minute by minute and establish exactly why it all went wrong. Was it the players, was it the officials, was it something else?

No matter how bad the referee was, it is embarrassing to blame him for the trouble.

The fans involved in causing the trouble, no matter which team they are supporting, need to be punished heavily. No place at all for that behaviour in our great game.

But quite simply, they won’t. They are incapable of putting two and two together and seeing that what went on during the game, thanks in a large part to their referee, is partly to blame for the way the fans behave.

They will close rank and not question his conduct whatsoever. It’s not even worth kicking up a stink. We know he was dreadful and allowed that game to descend into shambolic territory but they won’t see that and just think we’re taking the old fashioned line of blaming the referee like a pantomime villain, rather than seeing that our own side was inept in most departments (including discipline) and they will just say we got what we deserved.

For the record I think saddened was partly right, but for me, I saw a wire side try to match Catalans for grubbiness and come off second best. We try that every so often and come off worse with more penalties. Unlike cats and Wigan we don’t have the nouse to do it and get away with it, we just become a penalty machine and throw games away. I don’t think it’s a Steve Price trait, just that we don’t have the intensity to do it cleverly when it is actually called for.

Anyway to recap, you will see Child in charge of a fixture next weekend with no reprimand or comeback from today’s utter show.

Theres no excuse from our fans at all and nobody can defend it, and i hope they ban the lot of them. Yes the refereeing was an absolute disgrace and catalans got away with a lot of e tonight and if the game and alot of players don't get reviewed afterwards that will be a disgrace aswell. High shots from both sides intentional or not and the discipline was . I thought we would lose today and Austin getting injured means at least he will get a rest and i hope it's just a sprain and he gets a week off. Our Skill level has completely disappeared yet we don't even have a strong enough pack to muscle our way through games. I've no idea what's gone wrong but we are absolutely getting worse as the season goes one.

We could meet shatalans in the play offs..that will be fun...

Read his post. He made a distinction between what was taking place on the pitch and what went on in the stands. He says that the standard of officiating didn’t help, he’s not directly correlating the two things and blaming the referee for it.

I stopped taking you serious at this point. What a load of rubbish. It's a game at the end of the day & if you get so unhinged at things like this you have no place in a civil society.
