D Clark, Thewliss and Philbin come out of last weeks squad. Hopefully not too much up with Clark & Philbs. Possibly using the 6 point gap to third to rotate the squad a little?

I was thinking this week it might be a good opportunity to give austin a week off, depending how bad his leg is. Daz deserves a break as well.

The problem is FMC if you rest Austin who do you bring in? A half back combo of Dec and A N Other would see half this board spontaneously combust.

Good point. He was hobbling around for most of last week's game, and had his thigh strapped from the start. Short-term it wouldn't be great to be without him, of course, but long-term it would surely be beneficial to give him a week off (or however long it takes) and get him properly right. It would be interesting - and probably painful - to see how we went without both Austin and Daz Clark!

Clark, as Hooker, gets through a lot of work in both attack and defence. He's been doing a lot of minutes every game so he needs to be rested at some point and against Hull KR, at this point in the season, makes a lot of sense. Austin needs to be monitored. With Ratchford out our only real alternative is Livett so maybe he (Livett) needs a place on the bench so that we can take Austin off if we build up a commanding lead?

I doubt we'd get a commanding lead without Clark playing!

I'm a big fan of Davis myself. Not in grix's league yet mind you!!
But if Danny Walker isn't going to start when we rest Clark, when is he?

I'm with you Moe on both points. Walker needs a run out and based on Thewlis's performance last week the younger lads in the squad can take encouragement that Price will give you a chance and you should try your damnedest to make the most of it.

TBH based on limited viewings of him at Widnes I'm quite surprised how little time Walker's had

aside from the preseason and the first game(leeds i think) walker hasn't shown much.

tbh, i wasn't overly in favour of us signing him, and if he wasn't a warrington lad (i'd don't think i've used that before) i dont think most would be bothered. Its ok to look active and ok in a side that's getting slapped every week.

Think brad dywer at leeds at the moment, they're getting beat but he looks 'busy'.

Maybe Walker was signed because he managed to wind C Hill up, having said that we would have the biggest squad in SL if that was a reason to sign someone.

On the point of resting Austin, if the ruomours about Brown being back soon are to be belived then perhaps soon we may see austin reased for Patton and brown in the halves. I'd only agree with that though if Austin was playing through injury and it was geeting to the point where he may cause substantial damage or if we had secured 2nd position and we were able to rest players with the knowledge that we have the points to be able to drop games.

Have we given up on the idea of competing for 1st? I know certain Saints supporters think the season is done and dusted but there are a fair few games to play yet. 2 against the current leaders to start with.

Dwyer always looks busy. Not always good for players around him.

Some players need to recharge their batteries and some players need game time. It's a win win while we have a six point advantage.

I hear what you are saying FMC, but, we signed the lad so let's see what he's made of, or why bother when we can play Clark for 80 and (or pre Brown injury) Patton/Davis to fill in. Unless he's seen as a longer term project?

no. Pricey has said so this week.

Danny Walker won’t let you down. In other squads he’d be getting regular game time. He’s got a good work ethic tackles well and is sharp. I was impressed with him at Widnes. He’s by no means Daryl Clarke but who is! Give him a chance guys he’s a prospect!

We play Wakey at home next week & Saints at home the week after. Perhaps SP is resting Daryl this week and Blake next week with both of them to return refreshed against Saints. Makes sense to me.

Excellent until he got his head in the wrong place last week.

Would you really rest players against Wakefield.

If you cant rest players against a team that can't score a point at home against Leeds, then when can you??
