| Coming off the back of a couple of great wins, we now have a good 9 day lay-off until we play Oldham in the Cup and then we have a further 8 days until we're back to Super League action. Great opportunity for the lads to get over any niggling injuries, but also a potential speed hump in terms of the momentum we've built (scoring 88 points in two games). So what is the tactic?
Players that could do with a break: Clark, Gidley, Westwood, Hill, Sims, Evans
As well as Atkins and Lineham with short-term injuries
So we could roll the dice throw something like this at Oldham:
B Evans Kenny Philbin
Currie Westerman Hughes
Ratchford Livett
Atkins Jullien
Penny Johnson
Russell
Or field a strong-ish side with minimal resting (mainly Gidley) and ensure the result.
Thoughts?

| I agree we need to rest a few but not overdo it.
I'd be surprised if Atkins, Lineham or Evans plays in the backs but it depends who we have to come in.
Gids on the bench with Hill?
Need some talent there just in case.
Westwood needs to get over his ankle problem.
The likes of Philbin to get a run out.
Too many options.....
Need to leave it a few days and think again....

Lineham, Atkins and R Evans all appeared to pick up injuries tonight but I'm sure at least one of them will be fit enough to take that wing spot. Dodds, Dwyer, Laithwaite, Harrison, Wheeler, T King, Patton, Johnson are all injured while Ormsby is out on loan. Hill, Clark, Sims, Currie, Hughes - have a breather for a week. Probably Sean Kenny for the other bench spot?

| In wouldn't play Atkins with a broken finger, play Lineham Jullien, philbin I'd keep a strong team and bench though. It's a potential banana skin if we don't take them seriously and I'd quite like to go to Wembley again this year.

| If Lineham is ok after the head injury I would play him to keep his match fitness going, but he may have to rest.

| I would deffo rest Daryl, Hilly and Gidley.
Then I would consider resting Ben Currie and Ashton.
With it being a 9 day turn around Tom Lieham will have a good chance of playing. TS said Super Ben is having soreness from his ankle op so to sure about him. Ryan has tweeted that he needs to see a specialist about his finger fracture so I don't think he will play.
I would hope that Jo Philbin, Sam Wilde, Harvey Livett, Ben Evans and Morgan Smith all play some part.

We've hammered Daryl since Brad was injured and even more when Chrissy got his injury and Ratch had to move to the halves. Hilly has played every game as has Ben Currie. Save Gidley and give him a rest.
Our reserve team would probably beat Oldham, so change that probable to definitely but playing 9 or 10 1st teamers along with the likes of Sam Wilde, Harvey Livett etc

| Won't Gene Ormsby be back from his one month loan by then? I am assuming we will recall him. He was announced as going out on loan on 5th April.

| Well Westwood will almost certainly be dropped to sort out his ankle. Atkins surely will not play. Lineham and Evans are question marks but I suppose TS will not decide on them until mid week. So our strongest side based on that would be Jullien coming in for Atkins and Philbin plus Wilde into the BR and bench.
It will be interesting to see if TS does weaken the side beyond the enforced changes. He could give Livett a debut, he could even play Ormsby as he is virtually an extra forward that could give the pack a rest. As has already been stated, too many options, and we will have to await the 19 on Thursday.

| If it was down to me I would make wholesale changes and rest as many as I reasonably could. Absolute worst case scenario would be that it backfired, we would be out of the cup and be a laughing stock for a few weeks. But even in that case it would give us some enforced weeks off later in the season which would help in our quest for the 'bigger prize'.

| Would love us to get to Wembley!! but not to risk players with niggles to hamper our league run. The cc has been great for us, but I feel the lls and gf should be priority this year!!

| Winning the CC is far more important than one or two league games.
This game is a gimme. So we rest the niggles but give it the respect we need to win it.
We need those with niggles fit in case we get a stronger tie in the next round.
Wire can win the GF from 1st to 4th so no issues.
CC is the most important cup until we win it. Then it will be the GF.

| Play something like 4 fringe players, perhaps Ormsby, Philbin, Wilde, Evans. Build a healthy lead by half time to take the spirit out of Oldham, then withdraw key players such as Clark, Hill, Gidley.
Think that would be my game plan.

After TS's comments about westwood 'playing sore' I don't think he'll be in the side.

I agree Chaz, no disrespect to Oldham, but, let's get on top and control the game time of our 'big' players, a half hour run out for Clark, Hill, Gidley especially if it's on the front foot could be just as effective as a week off.
I know that we all crave a GF win but it's still a Cup that I want to see us win
