Warrington Wolves on twitter have just this minute tweeted that there is no Briers, Harrison or Moz for todays game.

I dont know whether its said tongue in cheek or whether its official confirmation of the rumours that were going around yesterday.

I will wait till i get in the ground and get the official team news before i believe it.

I said a few weeks ago briers injury needed at least 4 weeks, why he played in that nothing game last week is beyond me.

Last Saturday's game had nothing to do with it. He did this injuiry during the week.

Maybe but i bet its the same calf he was out with a couple of weeks back.

A grade A tear takes a minimum of 3-4 weeks recovery. It feels better after about 10 days of rest but if you push it too soon re-injury is very common.

He should not have played last week and indeed its looks like they have pushed his recovery too quickly. And at what cost, we shall see later.

I was mocked early in the season for suggesting you wouldn't win a trophy if Briers and Morley were injured.

Today wasn't about those two, we didn't lose because of those two neither. The players who played didn't defend well enough, didn't control the ruck speed well enough and we were ill disciplined at times.

We still had enough to win today, Wigan apart, I think we'd have beaten anyone else in SL today (not at our best).

I'm not trolling I am as gutted about the result as you lot. I was a Wire for the day, just think Briers is more important to your chances than you like to make out.

He is important.

If I'm honest though, I was mildly surprised with the ease in which we created chances and scored tries today, I thought that is where we'd miss Lee.

It was our poor attitude in defence at timeds, individual missed tackles & poorcontrol of teh ruck speed that Wigan took advantage of, Briers would not have fixed any of these areas.

I think what saddo means is that they are your two leaders and it was obvious today how much they were missed for those qualities alone - as agreed by all the wire fans I watched the game with - that the team sadly lacked leadership.
Also the break in play and the loss of solomona really hit you as you were on top at that stage and were the only winners. With 10 mins to go wire gave up which really shocked me and would not have happened under briers and/or moreley.

Its a big shame today; I really wanted you to beat the goons by a large margin especially as I'm struggling to believe we can beat them whereas I always thought we could beat you.
Anyway - assuming the goons get to the final you have the opportunity to stuff them the week after wembley and as we know, no-one is at their best the week after wembley.

Warrington's last tackle kicking today was generally mediocre at best. Briers would have improved that facet of the game, no doubt.

I thought the kicking wasn't that bad bar the Monaghan kick which went dead after Joel intercepted... he had so much room for error and yet still managed to kick it dead.

Joel Monaghan's failure to go the length of the field after that interception was the biggest disappointment for me. He barely got half-way, which is remarkably unimpressive.

As fantastic a player as J Monaghan is, he's no more a winger than Solamona is.....so slow for that "effort" down the wing.
Time for a Riley return, methinks, and JM as his centre, next season.

Likewise Blythe, no way he displays a centre's class.....second row..maybe

Such a pity Hodgson's worst game should be today.

Well done Wigan. Far and away the better side today. Their ball movement on tackles 4,5 and 6 today, was just as good as ours this season.

RIGHT. Time put this "concentrating on the league" business into full effect.
