I think up to a certain age all of these will be mentioned.
I certainly loved the walkover the bridge when I was younger and also waiting in line through the little cut through after the corner shop. I remember the first time I saw it as a young kid and just being floored by it's size and the noise coming from it.
The last game at Wilderspool holds memories but as I am slightly younger (have only watched super league games and not for the first few seasons) My favourite memories are closer.
Winning at Wembley after being so sure it would be a pies vs sts final.
Sealing the deal with back to back wins was great and a real relief.
and even really recent ones (even though I couldn't be there) the smile on my face that lasted a week after we won at sts.

Did you go to Wembley in either 2009 or 2010?

| when i was 4 and had season ticket every year as got older remember seperating from the parents and sitting on the old green electricity box at wilderspool and meeting the parents after then when got slightly older progressed to standing with the band then to the corner of the away fans and not looked back since still miss the atmosphere of the "zoo" the banging on the corragated iron you could hear the atmosphere from town centre and the electric walk over the bridge

no, one of my biggest regrets. I bought tickets to Leeds festival both those years.
Haven't this year and will never again. That weekend will be free till the day I die. I am not missing another Wembley performance.

| Some of the earlier years may be inaccurate.
- Lancashire Cup 1989
- All the games on cup run to Wembley in 1990(especially the semi at central park)
- Wembley 1990 - Mike Gregory scoring under the sticks.
- Regal Trophy 1992 - Pass from Mark Thomas ( I think) or he might have scored it, was one of the best you will ever see from a forward.
- 1994 Season, coming so close to winning the league
- Saints (h) 2001 - going 12-0 down and giving them a hiding.
- Graham Appo being GOD for half a season
- The Joey Game
- First win at the squat
- Briers drop goal at Leeds
- Semi V Wigan 2009
- Wembley 2009
- Wembley 2010
- Taxi queue in stockton heath after wembley 2010

Nah, I knew he hadn't.
I remember a certain post last summer that had me shaking my head in disbelief.
How anyone could choose to go to a music festival, twice, rather than to watch Warrington at Wembley absolutely astounds me.
If The Beatles were being supported by Elvis and Michael Jackson in my back garden I would still choose to go to watch my team in the final.
Nothing personal by the way JDRocket. You might be a belting bloke.
I just hope you don't have to wait 34 years to watch them win something.
Perhaps you have to be of a certain age and endured year after year after year after year of mediocrity to fully appreciate the current squad.

think u may be onto something there
The one man can make a team years we have langer thatll do we will win everything with him in the team forget about the other 16 players
i am able to appreciate how lucky we are at the moment to have such a good side with plenty of depth and dont forget backroom staff conditioners etc keeping them fit and stopping the injury crisis' of years gone by ala stains this year

| First match, v York Sept 1979. I was 10 (went with a few school mates, one of them was called Ian....spooky thing was, when I was taking my last steps out of Wilderspool v Wakey in 2003, same fella was next to me as I was walking out, under the scoreboard)
First Season Ticket 1983-84 season. John Bevan and Ken Kelly came round to our school. Ticket was £10 and you also got a scarf and bob-hat
Favourite Memories
Beating Widnes Prem first round in 86 (Ronnie Duane in a team try 3/4 length of the pitch)
Prem Final 1986
Those trips from mid 80's onwards to Central Park to give Wigan their annual beating
Getting hammered after beating Oldham CCSemi 1990
Any Des Drummond try
Freezing my nads off in the snow v Leeds (away 8icon_cool.gif and we won
Jiffy's try v Halifax on a Monday night, it's on a popular file sharing site (there was a powercut) 1993
Brian Johnson's Barmy Army v Sheffield Eagles April '94
Henare's try v Stains 96
Beating Wigan for the first time @ home in a decade, 97
and beating them again in '01 after being 18-0 down after about 10 mins
Bradford comeback in 2001, again after being dead'n'buried at half time
Last game at Wilderspool
Johns' debut
sweating like Neil Lennon's postman (when I was on holiday in August 2009) for the last 10 minutes of the Semi at Widnes
both CC wins (especially anhillating Leeds)

There use to be another poster who went by the name york79 as that was his first game too. Use to post more on the Wolfweb and I think he had a tissy-fit on this board and stopped posting.
He had a big, personal issue with Briers and sweared he’d never go to the H&J until Briers had been sacked by the club. Just imagine all the great rugby he’s missed – I bet he feels a bit of an idiot now.

| One of my favourite memories is when we played Oldham at their place (think it was a CC tie) it was bloody cold and snowing.
The pitch was like a cow-field and at half time a bloke ran out from the Wire end and tackled the Oldham mascot around the halfway line.
He turned and walked back triumphantly to the Wire fans when the mascot got up and performed one of the best tackles I have ever seen on a rugby pitch, causing this bloke to lose his trousers/dignity, covered head to toe in mud. Funny as F.

What a feeble excuse, letting a wedding anniversary get in the way of the wires biggest game in almost 20 years . Who wears the trousers in your house?
Many memories watching the Wire including all the CC finals, beating the aussies in 78, premiership final to name a few. Hopefully many more good days to come

You still go to a music festival & go to Wembley. Reading is only 30 mins from London by train & the station is next to the festival ground.
