We were outplayed end of discussion. But Silverwood made three very bad decisions that didn't help ,with two directly leading to tries. Penalizing Moz when he creamed that winger, the initial decision was a knock on and only when seeing it on the screen he change it to a penalty. I appreciate the decision was correct but the screen isn't there to be used in sich circumstances. Hodgson knocking on(apparently) when Brown knocked it out. Should have been play on and Myler was away. Also when Hodgson was tackled in goal. He had cleared his lines and was 3 or 4 yards over the line, how much time is allowed. It was like a ruck in rugby union.

1/ should have sent Morley off for that "tackle"
2/ should have disallowed the 2nd try for a double movement. Ball playing elbow clearly hits the turf and arm is raised and stretched to reach over

Silverwood didn't give the Hodgson decsion. The body was still moving, momentum.

I don't think it was, he bounced, the arm is going to move slightly because of the fact of physics, but his momentum meant he landed in the in goal hence the try was given. For it to be a double movement there needs to be a clear promotion of the ball over the line by stretching out the arm, that didn't happen.

In relation to this what are your thoughts regarding the try scored by Catalan last week? Same if you ask me.

Except that Morely should have been binned for that tackle on McGilveray. It was a terrible tackle. I hope Morely gets a ban for that.

Only obvious one he missed was Evans being tackled in the air, but that was a TJ call, to be fair to him.

I've seen a lot worse from him. I think his decision making under the pressure of the crowd has improved, only a couple of times last night did he listen to them.

I thought the game flowed even if he didn't police the makers or the ten very well, but he was consistent for both sides. Very calm with the Morley tackle, no knee jerk reaction to what looks like a really badly timed tackle, thought it was funny when Ade said "he ducked" he clearly didn't but I think it will be looked at early next week.

got a couple of the forward passes wrong, missed a couple but he was all over them!

I must say his display wasn't a major factor in our defeat, the better side on the night won - end of story.

Thought Silverwood was pretty good overall, it wasn't him who made the call on Hodgson's second try it was the VR, when it went up on the screen you could see from the players reaction that they thought it wasn't a try.

Morley had a few cheap shots, not just that one and thought Silverwood might show a yellow but refrained.

The main thing you notice about Silverwood is the amount of lying on he allows. This last night had a big impact on how we played the game. The other refs seem to get to grips a lot better with this, by giving penalties that nips most of it in the bud. If we play a team that are renowned for this (Wigan, Hudds), and have Silverwood as ref then we are always going to struggle with our style off play. I just think that the refs should all be singing off the same hymn sheet.

I think with certain other officials he would have been warming the bench for 10 minutes or for the rest of the game. With regards to the 'double' movement I've watched it a couple of times at full speed, 'cos for me that's the only way to view it, slowmo for groundings, and I'm happy it was a try.

I was at the game so haven't had the benefit of watching it over and over again, it looked debatable, from the big screen, I've seen them given (ala last night) and I've seen them not.

ATEOTD it didn't matter, but gave Wire something to build on in the second half, they failed.

You should have stopped after the first 6 words. The rest just makes you look a bit silly. 3 or 4 yards over the line???? He was on the line at best but with the tackle still moving it was play on as long as there was no pulling, only pushing.

i think he'll get away with it, not because there is an RFL conspiracy(see Lima, Wigan forum) but because his arm is pointing behind him, ie not stuck out to wrap around his head, no forward momentum of the arm, i genuinely believe Morley thinks his tackle was legit.

Silverwood had a good game. Sure, he missed a few things both ways - all refs do and it must be down to the speed of the game.

And double movement?? It was all one movement. You watch that at normal speed and there was no way Hodgson stopped AT ALL and then proceeded to plonk the ball down.

Silverwoods always iffy, but we were well and truly beaten, mainly down to lack of creativity in out department.

thought he had a decent game, i too haven't watched the replay but would like to see morley's great hit again as it looked bad at the ground.both wires tries looked contentious at first but dont think there was much in it to be honest.
other than that the constant high shots when it was clear warrington were beaten was pretty annoying.

I'll be honest I thought he was back in the field of play rather further than the line, but as you say the tackle as seen by the official was still moving and I agree there wasn't any pulling,but what ever happened to the ruling that when other players join in from the defending side the tackle is called?

Yeah couldn't agree more, once we were beat you didn't need to continue with this tactic

Another one taking the win with grace. If in your wildest dreams no other ref would have called held after the fifth giants player and third wire player got involved and hodgson was as rigid as flag pole. Then you've got issues.
