Someone's Brent Grose comment got me thinking.

I rarely venture into our fair town at night now, and when I do its different bars than I used too.

Anyhow, in the past, most times when I was out I'd see players from the team. Not all were blind drunk and/or drinking at all. Do the players still go out as they used to? I hear the drinking culture has been changed, but they are still human and should be able to socialise with each other as a team.

Any recent stories of chats in bars form anyone?

Brent Grose connection was in light of the fact I chatted to him for a good 15 mins and found him to be a nice bloke. Unfortunatly, it was in PJ's

Iv seen Ryan Atkins a few times, Chris Bridge once or twice too. Thats about it though, and it was in either 53 or Rain (i dont even like either of those clubs, christ knows why i was in there)

they usually go out in stockton heath and the ypunger ones drift into town its after the matche though not like a fews back when it was before a match

I used to hear that Ben Westwood was out all the time drunk, if so and he plays like he does get the rest of the players out with him also. Lol
Seriously thougth with the departure of some bad eggs (one sold to the pies for a substantial fee) Tony has got the team to work for each other and believe in themselves, well done to all, give the lads some praise and support. Keep it up lads.

Is there anywhere to go out to in Town these days? (if you are over the age of 20 that is)

Yeah you can grab a granny in The Feathers, grab a Milf in showbar, or go to 53 for under 21's (or under 18s depending on how much they offer the doorman

Or to get absolutely smashed for cheap, then go to Level. £1 a drink

I'm out pretty much every week, and definitely noticed a big change over the last couple of years. I used to see a player out nearly every week, but now I very rarely see any. Blythe used to be out occassionally but not seen him in a while, and Rhys Evans was in Showbar the Saturday after the Wigan game.

It takes the body two weeks to rid itself of Alcohol

Showbar makes me shudder i seem to attract the "milfs" as you put it that and babylon

after the game fair enough,but not the night before a game..any player who does this should be sold to wigan

Ive seen Rhys Evans in Showbar recently, cant remember when though.
Used to see Riley but always at the taxi rank heading home at around 11pm.
I think its all about nandos and coffee clubs these days.

On a Friday after a couple of cheeky ones in the Angel I usually head off to the Lion (mingle about in all 3 rooms) before heading up to the Carlton club til 2ish. Usually see Moz there in the que for chips n sausage off the chubby chap who does the coats aswel.

The rise of Wire as a RL force has coincided with the town's decline as a night spot.

Very few Wire players venture into town, if you want to see Wire player's drinking there's a pub in Worsley where they all go nowadays, can't remember the name????

That would be a no then,earlier poster mentions the feathers i was in there one night i think i was the only one in there with my own hips,jesus tonite..

Some of the players use to visit borders when it was open more for a coffee and a chat than anything else,but most are on a low profile these days and it shows in our League Posistion..

A pub with music at a level in which i can still hold a good conversation, cheap drinks, stimulating company (mental only now i'm married), pool table?

Certainly not in Warrington, Yed, on all aspects (well there's a couple with well priced drinks).
