Heard a rumour yesterday that the RFL may take one of the semis to Paris if Catalan got through. It would appear that Paris are prepared to pay a decent fee to stage the game which would offset the income from crowds, which have already been poor this year.

Doesn't matter to us IF we get into the semi's we will get Saints nailed on.

If we did get them though not many could afford it because we are playing Catalans away at the end of July.

Wonder if Mr Moran would do coaches for £4 for this game .....lol

I wouldn't put it past the RFL.I suppose it would be fairer on the Catalan fans who may not yet have experienced a Semi-Final of the CC before given all the big games have been played in the UK. But it would be hugely disappointing for the English SL club's supporters, many of whom would no doubt be unable to attend.

First reaction to the rumour would be no chance, but on second thoughts there would be plenty of time to arrange travel, accomodation etc so wouldn't surprise me one bit.

BTW, what is the lowest ever crowd for a challenge cup semi final?

I am in no doubt that whoever wins today will be playing either Saints or Leeds.
The RFL will be desperate to keep Saints and Leeds apart.

Perhaps this is why the semi-final draw won't be made until Wednesday. This might give the RFL more time to sort out the logistics of hosting a semi-final in Paris. If I remember last year, the draw followed the last quater-final match.

Wonder if a certain Icelandic volcano wants to get in on the act if they do decide in Paris. TBH I would have thought that a flight to Manchester and then play at NW ground would be easier for Catalan than the train/coach to Paris

Saints v Leeds would be the dream final IMO, the Challenge Cup hasn't seen those two in the final since 1978. It would be a great coup to get a fresh final with new teams like that.

Catalans have great home support.

Like it or not the game needs to expand and Catalans have made a good go of it, they are as much a part of the competition as Warrington and shouldn't be discriminated against (in selection of venue) anymore than anyone else.
