my moneys going on manly,,,i know leeds are champions and are at home but the way they were dis-mantled by wigan on saturday i cant see past a manly win...

If the Aussies are taking it seriously then Manly by 46. If not then Manly by 44.

Leeds were only champions last year by default ! Few good games end of season won the play offs not the league they are a poor team might scrape top 6 this year and will get spanked by Manly IMO

They won it fair and square but I do agree by lifting their games in the play offs after looking a poor side all year. I still feel they win games despite McDermott rather then because of him and they have a chance Friday because the players won't need a coach to lift them.

They did however look poor against us and looking at Manlys starting team it's hard to look past them edging it.

Exactly this for me. I don't know why, maybe I just dont rate McDermott personally after his stint at London. Either way I think it will be close for about 60 mins then Manly will just pull away. Manly by 10.

The really annoying this is (from my viewings of it) Myler is only just offside. Many, much more blatent, ofsides were ignored for both sides in the preceeding 79. I think it was cause Myler is quite quick and really barreled towards Sinfield that the offside was given.

Looked to me that he wasn't back the 10 (more like seven or eight) when the ball was played. Agree with your point about similar offences being missed earlier though.

Don't forget though that Leeds have friendlies plus 2 SL rounds of practice in and they will fix up where they went wrong against Wigan. Manly only flew over at the weekend and will have to adjust to the weather whilst getting over jetlag and have done no competitive match practice.

That said, Leeds need to up their game massively from the performance at Wigan.

Leeds finished 5th in the league in an inferior league.
Peaked towards the END of last season and weren't 'wigan 2010' quality
Leeds just got dismantled and raped by a very so-so wigan team.

Manly finished 2nd in the nrl after a consistent ish season.

The only thing you could say is maybe the obviously undercooked leeds team will catch manly off guard, as they haven't had a real game yet.

Although leeds may show the sort of from they had 3 or 4 years ago, the chances are manly will lose the game rather than leeds winning I. I.e. Manly make waaay too many mistakes and leeds luck out,

I hope it is a good game and that leeds put on a good show but I predict it won"t even be as competetive as the 2nd half of last year.

Yeah, it's usually at this point that everyone turns their backs on him and carries on the conversation without him.

I wasn't really mocking the idea behind the post, it's just the way he/it seems to convey themselves to the public, makes them come across as a total prat. I think we will lose in all honesty, unless we can muster some form like at the back end of last year which I doubt at this stage of the season. What we do have going for us at least is very experienced heads in this situation so we shouldn't get caught out in the headlights so to speak. We have home advantage and the warm up games over Manly, but their team is sheer quality all over the park. I wouldn't be surprised if we took an early lead, but as the Manly team begin to click they will take control. Should be a good game nonetheless.

Winning it by default would be the opposition teams being eliminated due to cheating. (fielding a banned player etc) Not by winning the best game of the season and beating Saints in the final for the 3rd time (4th in all) as underdogs.

On many occasion the team finishing top of SL has lost the GF and you are not the only League Leaders to fail to make the GF! Saints did in 2005! You come across very bitter, there is no difference really in a team finishing 2nd winning the GF or a team finishing 5th winning the GF. I admit it is harder to win the League than the GF but 99% of fans and 100% of players would rather win the GF than the league.

Warrington are a class side there is no doubt about that but the fact is in 2011 you played 2 KO games against quality opposition and lost them both!

Leeds could win the GF from 8th because they have so many experienced big game players capable of turning it on for a run of 4/5 games when it really matters, I dont think Warrington have that at the moment not to mention you have an older squad than the 'dinosaurs' at Leeds. Wire only have Mickey Higham in there squad who has won a SL GF without cheating thats the difference between the sides.

Warrington are a better side than Leeds but have less chance of winning a GF than Leeds imo although have million times more chance in winning the Challenge Cup. You'd think a team capable of dominating SL for since 2004 we would have won a CC!
