Quote ="Dita's Slot Meter"Who's putting in the cash at HKR nowadays?.. have they had some new investment?'"
Had a full board takeover in the winter with a healthy contingent of no less than 6 board members (another to come later on in the year) with the existing chairman Neil Hudgell still on board putting money in. (In context his money alone kept us surviving at worst, competitive at best!)James Mcnicol is likely to be the money man behind these transfers I'd imagine
( https://www.hulldailymail.co.uk/sport/r ... ol-7919098). Some big ambitions labelled here such as wanting to watch one of the best in the land and putting money in to achieve this). All this with buying our own ground, having multiple revenue streams and some real money spinners in The Who/Rod Stewart concerts at Craven Park, off the pitch is certainly going well. The board have put it on record to do it smart though, rather than tossing money about. It's also been a well kept secret the resources we've got which is also smart..why put pressure on a new coach pre season talking the talk?
The potential is huge and you're right on the next page, it's great for the sport. I also like the statements from our board actively encouraging the sport as a whole to progress. They want competition as it would sharpen their own focus, there's no point doing all this in a poor sport they've said.

| [quote="Wires71":8xfew003]Reading on here it seems we are putting a lot of faith in Hayes who, after all, has played 11 1/2 games of top level RL.[/quote:8xfew003]
It certainly does and it's a big ask given his age and lack of experience. In his favour, he is brave, confident, strong in defence and seems well organised with an eye for a pass and could be a really good foil for Williams. It still leaves us with no real long kicking game when we're looking to clear our lines when under pressure. From what I saw last season we have no-one with a decent long kick. That makes a difference in a tight game especially when someone like Harry Smith is in the opposition team.
Hope he does really well this year and becomes a local legend. Burgess & others obviously rate him very highly.

| Brilliant news, hope it's not just to fend off NRL clubs though.

| Be surprised if his loyalty isn’t rewarded with vice captaincy.

Well Canberra already tried that while he was still in his previous contract, I’m thinking this is 100% hands off with this new one.
