Quote ="Snaggletooth"At what point do the hierarchy at the Wire look at this pile of pooh and say to TS "what the feck is going on"?
I now believe that the team has gone too far for the current coaches to be able to turn it around, sadly its time for change.
As with others I was watching and thinking why did we sign Kevin Brown, consistency is his game and sadly its consistently garbage. As for Matty Russell he is getting away with murder, Riley and Penny have been hammered on her for poor shows, this bloke is head and shoulders above them for bad games.'"
At the risk of being shot down in flames, I actually think Brown has been doing a lot better in recent games than he did earlier in the season. If he weren't playing then i daresay we wouldn't have beaten Widnes and, against Wigan, a couple of his stray passes were errors by Westwood. Don't get me wrong, he isn't setting the world on fire but without him, at the mo, we'd be in a worse place........ well......in my opinion anyway.
In terms of Russel I'm very 50:50. In terms of his acceleration over short yards, he's second to none, and his strength to bump off numerous defenders is impressive and we would have scored less against Widnes and less against Saints if he hadn't rounded their winger and offloaded to Evans (i think it was) who broke and then, next tackle, we spread the ball wide and scored, and managed to squeeze over himself in the corner. But he is too short, isn't the best at passing and, as numerous people have noted in recent weeks, would get run over all day by bigger and stronger wingers.
Having said that, Penny and Riley were definitely binned for less mistakes than Russell makes!
