Quote ="CM Punk"The thing Hock needs to work on most IMO is knowing when the right time to offload is. A lot of the time he's just throwing the ball out to players who aren't prepared for it, or straight onto the floor. It's alright against inferior teams such as Castleford, Wakefield, St Helens, etc, because we can neutralise an attack they try or quickly sort ourselves out. Against yourselves and Australia however, it's got the potential to kill us.'"
I think if you try to control Hock too much you can take away what makes him so effective. Some say he doesn't know when not to offload but it could also be said that the players around him fail to realise exactly when he's capable of offloading. There are quite a few times when players just aren't looking for the offload and are taken by surprise.
Both Hock and Westwood are probably the best back row forwards in Super League. Hock at his best probably has a little bit more in attack but Westwood tends to be better defensively and is a little more consistent.
Another promising thing is that even though both players are now heading into their 30's both teams appear to have ready made replacements coming through, with Jack Hughes looking likely to take the left second row place at Wigan and Ben Currie at Wire, who I will grudgingly admit is the better of the two and potentially a new Gareth Ellis or possibly even better.
