I personally would advocate this, and am very interested in other peoples views. Do you think there is a place for female referrees and would they be welcomed by both the fans and the players?
Looking at this from an official and professional capacity, what obsticles are in the way to prevent this from coming to fruition?
I have just read this on SKY's website about Sarah Bennison's fantastic achievements and her dedication to refereeing rugby league matches:

My only concern with this is that female referees could be easily swayed by the 'better looking' players... for example.. will westwood start getting away with more if he flashes her a cheeky smile before the game starts.
Will fadge instruct the likes on hansen and o'loughlin to sweet talk her behind closed doors, allowing his players more time to hold down in the tackle and put pressure on shoulder joints when she officiates.
and imagine how much brough will get away with.... huddersfield will be almost unbeatable with a female referee in charge.
Someone really needs to think this through properly.
In terms of songs.... it could be the first time both sets of fans get to sing [i'you're supposed to be at home'[/i at the same game.
