Quote ="Unileaguer"I red a lot on this site but don't normally post, however this has got me puzzled.
The way I inerprit the "extended" rules any player who registered with the RFL prior to Feb 2008. I've pasted this from SEB's 2001 squad list:
"To take advantage of the extension of the exemption a player must apply to the RFL to be ‘federation trained’ at the end of their current contract. They also must have registered with the RFL prior to 1 February 2008, the date when the club trained rules were introduced.
Their status as a federation trained will then apply throughout their career, even if they move clubs in the future"
If this is so then Solomona signed for Wakefield 2004, Vinny to Saints 2005,
Louis - Hicks - Monas - Kingy all signed eng of 2007, we have no-one on the quota?'"
I think Louis, Hicks, Monas, King fall under:
Quote overseas quota = as per current rules i.e. anyone unable to prove origins within EU or Kolpak countries.'"
So those four plus Hodgson makes our five. Solomona should be able to be classed as federation trained and Vinny too - who I think would be worth keeping on, I think he's doing a decent job from the bench this year.
