I was fortunate enough to attend today as match sponsor (Carnegie is my employer) - it was an absolute pleasure to be asked to nominate the man of the match award.
At half time I would have picked Ben Westwood, as he carried so much firepower upfront to make up for the loss of Rau and Moz. But Monas was clearly MOM by the time I was asked to decide that it was an easy decision.
I spoke to him after the game and he said he is really enjoying his rugby now and feeling very confident on the pitch. That was obvious today especially as he took on the line so often. It was great to see.
Tony Smith did a speech after the match in the players' and directors' area and he praised the Wire fans to the hilt. It really makes a difference to the players to get such big support.
Anyway, here's to a win at Craven Park, which we will get if they play with the passion, professionalism and teamwork that's beginning to show... Cheers all
