Erm, once again I hate to be a pedant, but that image appears to be facing west which means that must be sunset...

Sorry to have to correct you but that image was taken earlier this morning and it's facing east. Take a look at the image and consider the future location of the main stand and the fact the TV gantry will be in the main stand.(As shown in plans) An east facing gantry location is a requirement for Sky Sports because they don't like their main camera facing low level evening sun.

Apologies. Could of sworn the camera is facing south-west based on the angle of the bridge. My bad.

It's pleasing to see via the new webcam that the contractors are still ploughing on with the work on a bitterly cold frosty Saturday morning. Also noticed over the past two days that they have a huge workforce that start early and finish late.

At this rate the new stadium could be finished early for our playoff semi-final eliminator v Wigan.

Heard steel erection starts late next week or Monday at the latest if all goes well with the weather?

Just what i heard from site HQ.

I suspected as much re the piles and foundations.

However phase1 Salford is only really one decent sized stand with facilities in it. The facilities do look excellent though.
The other stands are pretty basic metal and concrete sheds with just a few rows of terracing or seating. Shouldnt take long to put them together.
Especially as they dont have anything other than basic facilities within.

Wires ground has both its main stand and one stand behind the goal with corporate hospitality facilities.
The two terraces are also bigger than those planned initially for Salford.

It its true that Steelwork starts going up next week, then that for me says a finish by end of August is a possibility.
If so then come mid June the stadium will probably be externally complete. With only internal fit out to be done.

Any construction pro's able to tell me what's going on in the current live footage? Just looks like muck shifting to the untrained eye.

Most of this work has been to erect the Buckingham banner at the back.

I am no expert but I think the tall peice of equipment on the far left (Above Image) is a drilling machine for the pilings. I assume the pilings are the concrete type because I've noticed on the webcam cement mixer vehicles and two tractors with what look like water cylinder trailers. I heard the piling was scheduled to finish on January 28th so it looks like they are running behind.

That would be due to the big Freeze we had last year and early this month as we already know you can't put down concrete down in that weather, so I’m not surprised its a tad over schedule.

Has anyone any clue as to when there will be something tangible to see like steel work being erected.

I was told steel erection was due to start monday coming up but might be later on next week now as weve said the snow put a stop to things in january.

I was told that you should be able to tell that it's a stadium by some time in April.
