I'm pretty sure he's agreeing with everyone who is saying we are getting cocked around with Barton despite, as I put earlier, if it wasn't for us there would be no ground. Feel free to ask him though.

There is no way the Council and to a bigger extent Peel would have even thought about the concept let alone funded the building of it, if it hadn't been for Red City Developments initial idea which was to safeguard, secure and future fund the Rugby club then as I say there would be no stadium, it hasn't/isn't been built for Sale, Swinton, Man Utd or anyone else for that matter, it’s being built for Salford Rugby League and the wider Salford community, so is it our stadium? Just a thought.'"
Substitute Leigh Centurions in that statement and you could have copied it off the Leythers board from 4 years ago

I'm going to use this statement as a starting point. KOTS is absolutely correct... If it wasn't for Salford City Reds... there would be no stadium at all.... so.... Why not build it with a specification to suit the club. We should fit into that stadium like a glove... so do we ? Not at all.
I make my point again... this isn't so much about just having blue seats. This is about not having enough of a say in a stadium that will be primarily used for Salford City Reds home games. I just can't see how people can't see this. It's not as trivial as many may see it.
Yes we are grateful for the assistance from other parties in getting us this opportunity... but what will be the next kick in the teeth ?
Perhaps the next one will be seeing the main stand with the Reds logo at one end.... and the Sale Sharks one at the other end ? Will that be so trivial ?
The one after that will be getting our games moved to accommodate a Rugby Union game because that will be the bigger crowd pull ? Will that be so trivial ?
When will it get to a point when some people say.... 'Hang on a minute... something ain't right here... why isn't anybody speaking up ?'
How bad does it have to get ?.... Salford try to arrange a game for a Friday night... and being told that Maureen has booked a Zumba class at 7.30 so we'll have to move the game
Far fetched I know... but you get my point.
So please... see this as not just a bunch of the wrong colour seats... see this as the club not having the balls to stand up... and instead being a yes sir no sir club.... The club should be standing up to whoever made these decisions and saying 'NO'

And then the only answer is well if you don't like then your more than welcome to go find some place else to play!!
So much scare mongering it's bordering on the paranoid by so many.
For all we know Wilky and the club are getting consecions for things like this.
If I recall didn't we give the council the land the Willows is built on buck she in exchange for the council building the new ground? there if that is the case must be cast iron agrements on certain things reguarding the use of of the new ground. Dount very much if the council could dick us about to much and doubt very much if they would want to either.

If it wasn't for the fact we're stuck in the contract with them. If we turned around and said " ok we'll go" I'm sure they would be pandering to our needs pretty bloody sharpish. An empty stadium is no good to anyone that owns it. And even with Sale as tenants they'd still get worried big time.

Highly unlikely... The club will just continue to back down because of that 'no option'.
There may be a huge level of paranoia on here... and I may be one of them... But it must stem from somewhere... I wonder where that could be ?

Paranoia- characterized by delusions of grandeur and persecution, unfounded fear, suspicion.
This says it all, thankfully some people are not affected by it,we still have fans who are grateful for what we have got, who are not bothered what colour the seats are.
Fans who understand the problems that the club have had and still have, fans who understand that if the council/Peel spends millions building a new stadium they will have a big say in running the set up.
Fans who know what finance the Chairman and directors have put into the club over many years with lots of brickbats thrown at them for their efforts.
I am off to the doctor tomorrow to see why I am eagerly awaiting the new season in a new stadium, with all new seats of differing colours, the possibility of bigger crowds all cheering the team on, no Mcrae out chants, Steve Simms being cheered on and off the pitch, decent floodlights, new toilets etc, etc, etc.when some others are not.
I dont want Sale here, but if they do come I'll not lose any sleep over it and I wont be watching them.

Yes they did and they were cushioned, now if the blue seats in the Mainstand are cushioned that would be the biggest turnaround ever we would all be fighting for the seats then...

Don't get me wrong... I know exactly what the Chairman has put into the club... Part of the problem for me is that very fact... He deserves a stadium that is screaming Salford City Reds.
I understand everything that has been put in... and I do know the implications into being the tenants of a much bigger machine... but I also feel that this is the start of being completely owned... and bossed about... and certainly made to feel that we should be grateful all the time.
I'm pleased that you are excited by the floodlights... and that you can happily p!$$ in comfort... but some of us hope for more than that... while others are happy to be finishing in the bottom 4 or 5 every season and think that everyone who wants and expects more have 'delusions of grandeur' ... and run on a daily basis by people who don't understand or like the sport that our team plays.
Whatever you think of those who aren't happy about this latest development... the fact is... they/we all care enough to kick off about such a trivial thing.
I guess you'll be over the moon when it looks like this....

Trivial? A partial change of seat colour is monumental in the scale of stuff people here will kick off about.

The point about the floodlights, toilets etc was meant as a little joke clearly not understood.
You don't want more for the club than I do and I know that I have a lot more years in watching the club than you have and the fact that we see things differently is part of life.
I wont be over the moon if Sale come, I have already stated that and I would not like them to have their motif/emblem on the front of the stadium but I cannot take on board all the rumours etc on what may or not happen or may or may not have been said.
With regards being tenants of a much bigger machine without this machine we would be in a very difficult position compared to where we are at present.
I have checked up and I appear to be in the red seats but I may ask for a half and half one just to be awkward.

| I couldn't give a t055 about the colour of the seats, but different coloured seats are in stadiums around the world, on TV it actually gives an impression of fans being in them, whereas if the seats are all the same colour empty patches soon show up, so alternating diff colours works.
The only thing that matters is what we do on the field because that will bring the people in, so lets get real.

| I've just been made aware of a very creditable conspiracy theory that goes along these lines.
John Whittaker and Brian Kennedy were in Dallas November 22nd 1963 doing a tour of grassy knowles and book depositories, they have also been spotted in Iraq buying up WMD's dirt cheap to sell to Kim Jong-il, that they flew out of Barton airport on September 11th 2006 but didn't file return flight plans, there are also reports that they have a shadowy side kick who goes under the name of Elvis Presley who in his spare time rides a horse called Shergar.
But the nastiest bit of information is that the blue seats have come from the latest meeting of the illuminati in a bid by the main protaganists to lead the way in recycling.

| Aaaarrrggghhh.... When will people actually realise that the bulk of the issue here is that the blue seats are just a symbol of how little say we have in what goes on at this stadium... and it's just a matter of time before we get trampled all over. This is not Salford's new ground.... this is just a ground we are playing at... and these blue seats prove just that. If the club had built this stadium... do you think they would have put blue seats in ?.....No... neither do I.
