| The photo in last weeks M.E.N. was taken from in the cab of a HGV, apparently doing it every month now courtesy of Bill Mc(club photographer).

Chairmaker ours is a proper state of the art building site,well fenced off,floodlit and patrolled so any access unless authorized is not allowed.The footpaths go around the site but the fencing is a good height.
We did have one supporter,Barton Flyer I think who until not so long ago had access to a light plane from where he took some excellent aerial photographs which are posted somewhere on the site.
They appear to be starting to drill for the piling part of the construction at present.

Not asking you to break in. Thats committing an offence. However surely there are gates were vehicles enter, were photos can be taken, or higher bits of land were you can look over any fence?
This is what i do when taking pics of Saints site.
One of you could also be brave and ask the site manager if you could take some pics on behalf of the Scarlet Turkey.
At worst he will say NO, but he may say YES.

The nearest piece of land higher than the fence is probably Rivi' Pike...

Spooky! I've actually just passed the stadium site, and took a couple more photos - I'll try and upload them later today if I get chance.
Loads of activity, piling rigs, excavators, etc. Just wish I had a better camera.

At the very end of the site, just before the layby rejoins the A57, you'll see a White wooden fence - go through the opening, and follow the footpath for approximately 100 metres. The footpath rises, and the high wooden fence on your left dips down, so you get a half decent view into the site. Not ideal, but the best I have found.

Heres an interesting web site that will come in handy when your new ground is built
www.walkjogrun.net/
Its designed for runners to map out jogging routes and work out how far they are running, however its equally usefull for working out how far you are from the nearest pub when the new ground is built.
Ive checked out if its feasible to park on the trafford centre then walk to your new ground. Its around 1.6 miles which takes about 35 to 40 mins. So doable though not ideal.
Wonder if the club and Trafford centre will do a deal with Salford re running shuttle buses to and from the ground back to the Trafford centre. The aim being to get fans shopping and drinking athte TC pre or post match.

| OK, couple of the stadium site from today (sorry about the quality):-
First one is the full site-
[url=http://img254.imageshack.us/i/img0280na.jpg/ [/url
Next one is another of the full site-
[url=http://img694.imageshack.us/i/img0288ci.jpg/ [/url
Third is a close up of one of the piling rigs-
[url=http://img830.imageshack.us/i/img0283pg.jpg/ [/url
And final one, taken at the Wigan friendly on Sunday - and quite apt, I believe - is the sun setting over The Willows (I'm gonna miss that place!)-

| cheers for that, nice to see a bit of nagging works
Your stadium looks more advanced than ours because you can actually see all the round concrete piles.
Also interesting your piles are concrete, whereas the ones at Saints new stadium are not.
Ours seems to be using Vibro piles, this basically consists of a massive vibrator that makes the earth move, then injects material into the large gash, to create a genuine hardcore experience.

that sounds painfull, I hope that material that they inject into the large gash only makes one stadium.

The most telling statement of the article is the following:
[i“Again, we've kept editing of the interview to a bare minimum”[/i
In other words we've taken out any salient facts but kept in the controversial headlines like most unreadable rags do!

| Isn’t it heart warming that the ‘Salford Star’ magazine is so supportive of our club and the council’s efforts to provide new community facilities for the people in our city?
I wonder what influence a former, bitter, Reds director could have on this local magazine? Ohh that’s interesting . . I’ve just noticed he’s listed as one of their writers on the website. Without feeding ‘susceptibly inclined’ readers to conspiracy theories and contrived spat this magazine wouldn’t have run for more than two issues.

| A good journalist checks their sources and facts before printing the same can not be said for the SS, it prints mostly anti-salford proaganda reflecting its editiorial bias. I don't normally read it anymore.
just read it, what a load of tosh, Kingston basically hates the fact that thousands of jobs will be created at the quays, The Lowry outlet will grow with the Quays as BBC and Granada staff and other media add ons move in, the only problem is that some of the more up market stores might want to move in there, pushing others out but also increasing rental revenue back to the council, so the investment in the BBC will be shown to have been good business, hopefully this can be replicated by Salford City Reds. Kingston just sees the negative side to everything that is Salford and I don't think he is even from Salford.

| The SS is a very embittered rag .
Their implication is the Wilkinson & John Merry are a latterday Derek Hatton's doing dodgy deals to line their own pockets and up their own kudos.
Salford Council are just catching on
expanded Arndale Shopping / Trafford Centre
revamped Corn-exchange / 'Triangle '
Piccadilly Station refurb
Metro Link
Commonwealth Games - City of Manchester Stadium . Athletics Stadium
Manchester Velodrome
National Squash Centre
Urbis - Now soon to be National Football Museum
Printworks
Imperial War Museum of the North
Have all involved Manchester/ Trafford Council - Public & Private investment and have transformed the skyline & Image of Manchester
the Only landmark developments in Salford I can recall in the last 10-15 years ( Lowry Centre - Lowry 5 Star hotel ) are only in Salford by default . just across the river
Meanwhile Chapel st crumbles , the Precinct Rots
the City of Salford need to improve it's image & fast
