To be honest Sneyd must be really pleased how this loan move has worked out for him. I don't think he could have dreamed about the form he's in and being third place in Superleague with a Challenge Cup semi-final to look forward to before the season started.
I know Marc is contracted for another year to us but at the end of the day I could fully understand if he didn't want to come back. Why would he? The Cas fans love him, he's playing in front of bigger crowds and Cas are a much better team right now. Plus is he guaranteed a starting place?
Basically I think it's up to the player because there's no point making him come back under sufference if he doesn't want to come back.
Our club needs players that are totally committed to Salford's future success and I think this has been part of the problem for us this year.

| Whilst Sneyd is our player when (if) he returns to us next year where is he going to play?
The rumour (as ever) is that Dobson is done, assuming Rangi stays as I`m sure he will half back with Theo aswell is sewn up. Full Back is Locke so where in the team will he play?
I can`t think after the season he has had he will want to be playing back up to anyone.
Can we do a deal with Cas for one of their players, if so who would they realistically release?

Personally if we lose against the Bulls I think Harris would have to walk. If we can't beat Bradford at home with a team full of loan players can you honestly see where the next win would come from? This game on Sunday is absolutely crucial and I'm hoping and praying all the boys can put in a massive 80 minutes performance.
Bradford will be really fired up for this one and we will have to be ready from minute one.

Think the obvious answer is Clarke, though think it's pretty well known he is off to Warrington. I think what most people keep forgetting about Marc is that this season he has put himself in the shop window, after Green announcing yesterday he is leaving Wigan surely someone with Marcs talent and his accuracy with the boot make him a target as much too other clubs as they do too us. If say a Wigan did come in for him I'd much rather look at a swap for Goulding and/or Dudson and/or Gelling.
My opinion on him coming back is it's imperative, we will have a much more competent back line next season who it is hoped will score many more tries so a kicker of Marcs ability is an absolute must, Warrington have used Ratchford all over the park this season where he has pretty much excelled in all and I don't see why if Dodson does sign that Marc can't be used in the Ratchford type role.

Who knows if Cas get to Wembley they will have some extra money in the pot and could decide to offer a transfer fee. If they want to keep hold of Sneyd they are going to have to offer something substantial because as you say another club could come sniffing.

I'd not bother with Dobson or get shut of Chase and his long face. Or maybe just get shut of Chase and play Dobson with Sneyd. Play a couple of dependable halves who want to wear the shirt.
Unless of course Chase can start playing 80 minutes of decent football rather than 75 minutes of drop off passes and then a couple of bits of magic to get everyone lauding.

| Agree with your comments Chester.
Bradford is a must win game for the Devils & Harris as we can forget the next 3.
We need to buy a few bottles of `Pellegrini` as he knows how to massage egos of top players and bring team spirit to the table. Can Harris do this? Lets hope so.

Thirdly, if you do continue to stumble on to here telling us what you and other fans of clubs who's tuppeny inputs we could care less about, you can continue to 'await the usual response'.
Mind the door on your way out.'"

Good try at baiting me.
I have no problem with anyone's opinion as long as it's structured, thought-out, and civil.
The difference between this article and an opposition fan typing it on here is fairly obvious. It's an article written elsewhere. Whereas if it was dumped here on our forum specifically, it would go into the excessive pile of threads entitled "Here's my opinion on your Club whether you're interested or not."
How many threads are there on the Leeds board, or the Catalan board, or the Dewsbury board from opposition fans deciding that they know how a Club that they see a couple of times a year is supposed to be run? Not many in comparison. If at all.
I suppose we should grow thicker skin, but it does get tiring quickly.

Totally agree. Thought that myself when i read it.
Plus when Cas signed Brett Seymour I presume he would of been first choice 7 over Sneyd? (I'm sure one of our many friends from Cas will correct me if I'm wrong?)

| Nobody envisaged Marc Sneyd's form this season, although some will argue Daryl Powell seen the potential hence signing him whereas Noble didn't (hence loaning him out and spending £70k on Tim Smith).
I also doubt any Cas fan had Sneyd as their starting 7 when they were posting their starting 17 during pre-season.

The difference being that opposition fans on this forum mainly say it in a poorly written, aggravating way. They're not doing it to give a fair opinion, they're doing it to sh*t-stir and with the background of having an agenda.

How is that a "left field" prediction? Hardly a shattering viewpoint/unlikely possibility, Charlie. I think most of us are aware that there's a very good chance Sneyd will stay where he is.

I'd be saying that too in order to broker the best deal in cash or player exchange, just like Cas did with Chase when he was under contract last season .

What figure would you put on Sneyd considering his form, age and his goal kicking ability?
Do you think 100K would be realistic in todays market?

Whatever outcome you come to the real figure will be somewhat less, as it always is. A lot of RL fans seem to inflate values for some reason, when the reality is that ANY money changing hands is always welcome to any Club. This usually means that lower numbers are more a reality than the pie in the sky numbers we fans think in an ideal world.

In addition to the replies you've already had on this, I'd add that a lot of the things fans of other clubs come on here (and the VT) to tell us they're irate about are things they've made up: Marwan is a fraudulent GP from St Helens; he insists on people referring to him as 'Doctor'; he's breaking the salary cap; he tried to get a televised match moved for his own convenience; he sacks players at will; he interferes with team selection; he picked the players in the squad, not the coach. These are just a few examples of the Straw Marwans we've been presented with in this past year. I think one of them - the players being chosen by him and not the coach - is one of yours. What's your evidence for that?
And, of course, these pearls of wisdom are usually accompanied by the puerile variations on his name. I guess these are adults writing these screeds, but they still have to resort to the sort of behaviour that most of us left behind when we exited the sand pit and wendy house. 'Kin pathetic. It demeans us all because it makes all RL look like a bunch of nappy filling infants who can't construct an argument but have to rely on name calling. Maybe we should book them all on a crash course on growing up.

I appreciate what you are saying but we got £200K for Richie Myler 4 years ago. Cue the where did the Myler money go. I thought I was being rather conservative with my valuation.

I'd pay 100k for Sneyd to come to saints (if I were chairman of saints of course) - 100k-150k seems like sensible deal for both parties (if the Dobson rumours are true) - in reality, I doubt money will be what Salford (koukash) would settle for, so a player swap would be more likely
