I imagine Marwan maybe back tracking slightly after the news of Hansen's possible arrival was leaked from the fans meeting in Eccles earlier that evening.

I'll be shocked if we do sign him, the lad is in his prime and playing for the current Super League and Challenge Cup holders with a chance at winning the World Club Championship too. In addition to all that, he is in his testimonial year although has this been granted by the RFL (and therefore he can still undertake if he played at Salford) or Wigan Warriors? Either way I imagine it will take some money to land him, but IF we did it would be IMO our best signing out of the lot.

Totally agree with that, Hansen would be our best signing for some years, he's currently one of wigan best players and as you've said in his prime still. If he pulls this one off hats off to Marwan.

I don't claim be be in the know but i would be very surprised if this happened for next season. It's not as though H is unhappy at Wigan, we are the current SL champions and CC holders and have a WCC in Australia to play. He is also contracted to Wigan for next year so can't leave without our permission Given the amount of experience we have lost i'd be suprised if that was granted.

The 2015 season is a very different prospect. H is OOC and can do what he chooses.

Sorry Eastbourne Warrior, but after today's speech at the open day, if this signing doesn't materialise, both myself and the good Doctor are going to look like a right pair of Charlies. I was informed by someone at the club (rather not say who) last week and he seemed fairly confident about Hansen.
Now after Koukash said that today I am very confident of the signing happening.

like i said on the rumor board on the Wigan page, Great if he does sign for you he will be your first quality signing but if he does stay at wigan for another season fantastic. If not and IL sees fit to release him early there will be plenty of others to step up.

Chase is a fantastically good player yes, the stats prove that, but a) I'm not convinced he knows how to play as a team (willie Manu had a problem early in the year as he was in the mindset of only he was capable of creating something due to how he was used at hull) and b) for the amount he's (reportedly) on, I don't think he's that good a player, which is why I wouldn't want him at saints.

Hansen (if that's who is being alluded to) would be fantastic for you guys - and far better than the above 3 - he has a level of consistently high performance that none of your other signings have shown.

I have a sneaking feeling that Mullaney will end up being the best buy and I think will turn into one of Salfords best ever finds.

I think Saints will be the team next year. The Devils will make 6th spot in my view. But with the "off the cuff" players could be anything.

2 of them have already played for Wigan, wouldn't have either of them back.

Im all for Salford being up in the top 4 or 5 and the signings you have made so far will get you closer to it but none of them are signings i was jealous of as a wigan fan. As i said Harrison Hansen is a quality player and plays to a high standard week in week out and will be your best player.

Does anyone else cringe when someone comes on here telling us who we're confident of signing? Marwan says a lot of things. Some of them come true and some don't, but the lesson of Red League stickying up the Wakefield forum with his premature infatuation over Danny Kirmond is surely that it's best to wait and see what actually happens rather than getting all fluffed up too soon.

I agree, by all means share information if you know were talking to a player (as we quite obviously are with HH) but to claim he's signed and a done deal is crazy.

Just to reiterate, Harrison Hansen would be our best signing for a long, long time.

To be fair, people are rarely jealous of the signings other clubs make. No-one was tearing their hair out in despair when Wigan signed Scott Taylor or Blake Green. When you signed Matty Smith, there were even some Salford fans glad to see him go (although they were misguided, to say the least). It does raise the question of which signings [iwould[/i make you jealous (apart from the obvious ones like members of the Australia or NZ squads who are inaccessible in everyone's minds except Marwan's).

I'm not sure it's that much of a coincidence. The club have been pretty open about their pursuit of Harrison Hansen, but the deal isn't done yet - and may not be done - and being 'confident' about it isn't the same as him lining up for us next year. So, yes, while Marwan's enthusiasm is indeed infectious, I think we need to be careful that this enthusiasm doesn't escalate into embarrassing acts of bell-endery on other club forums. One Red League is enough (if there is indeed only one).
