So everyone who acts up in this manner is a football fan, are they? Ignoring the anti-United comment which clearly shows some footballing interest from yourself, if it's the same lad I'm thinking of, going off the descriptions on here, he's not known for going to the football. Just for acting the prick at Salford games. So just think before opening your gob. Just because someone acts up it doesn't mean they're a football fan or vice versa.
As for the performance. I can't comment, but it wasn't too much of a surprise to me. It's still early days, we've no danger of going down and we've got three years to get it right. Let's not get too down just yet.

| What a fookin disgrace that display was last night. Big phil tried hard & myler but what can he do with the other numpties on the team. Fitzy positioning is awful & letting the ball bounce your always asking for trouble.
I could go on all day one thing i will say is although i am not a fan of paul it was quite noticable he had an impact when he came on.
As for the fans branding it as football holigisam thats just OTT. There were a few things thrown by the usual numpties but nothing else.
Same old same old.....
We can now look forward to a 10,000 capacity against quins next friday

| Quote ="Jim Jalfrezi"GT, this statement just about sums up why Salford still have an away following.
The standard of rugby our club has produced since the early part of 2006 season, is nothing short of a disgrace. I don't care who went last year and if they enjoyed the success................it was still poor quality.
It's about time the long suffering, dedicated, fee paying fan was rewarded. 35 years of my money, dedication and support, with no major reward/big day out.......that is just wrong
A total fookin disgrace.........end of

Agree totally, in three years time when we've been languishing in the bottom two for the whole of our franchise and with no new ground on the horizon, those of you who are stating this 'we've got three years b*ll' will be crying that you'd wished they'd tried a little harder when we get kicked out. If anyone feels that getting hammered 52-16 is acceptable for now then you want your heads testing. Castleford, Wakefield and Hull KR with no great disrespect have just about scraped a licence too but considering they will compete, unlike our lot, I don't think they'll be sweating on another three years will they. Oh and for all of you who state its not time to change the squad and give the kids a chance, why the hell not? If they're good enough they're old enough, at least they might show some effort unlike some of our senior players and maybe, just maybe influence those senior players to actually start to put some pride in the shirt when they get another chance.

In the same way, don't tar all United fans with the same brush.
And I realise we've gone a long, long time without any success and have seen nothing but poor rugby for the past few years. I know nothing's improved nor changed since sacking Harrison. But we're three games into a three year chance to build a competitive side. Let's look at the bigger picture for once.

I think the point some people are making is that despite having a 3 year franchise we have still done the same as if there is still promotion/relegation in bringing over a load of seemingly average overseas players just for the sake of it. Imagine the positive image Salford would've given out by being the first superleague club to say "We're not going to fill our overseas quota as we'll be giving youth it's chance and build our side around them for the next 3 years." The fans would see where the club are coming from and lets be honest it is unlikely we'd have played any worse than in the last 2 games.

| Herein lies the problem - whilst the fans will adamantly declare "Salford till I die" a percentage of the team aren't committed to "Salford while I'm here" judging by last nights display. I hope its a blip and I eat my words.............

Who are these kids you talk about?surely not the ones I watched play Castleford reserves yesterday.Only two of those Ratchford and Sidlow look anywhere near Super League level and McRae knows this.To throw them all into the first team at the moment would ruin them for the future. You think 52-16 looks bad,try 100-16 a few times and see what our licence application looks like.
I'm not being complacent, the last two performances have been abysmal, but let McRae sort it out. He's right, the pace of Super League is what's killing us at the moment,as it does most teams that get promoted.Remember under Karl Harrison did we lose something like 10 on the trot?yet he managed to improve us gradually by not panicking until it went tits up in the final season.

Someone among your ranks know who they are, report them to your club and get them banned
On the other front, you were always going to struggle as we did last year, give it time and you will improve, this year will be a long painfull one but it will get better

Ok,play Ratchford and Sidlow,do you really think it would make much difference? Who do you leave out? Nash I presume, and who else? Robbie Paul? The team have played much better when he's come off the bench, problem is game has been lost by then.Smith?must admit he's been a bit disappointing last two games, but did ok against Celtic and laid on 2 tries.I've a lot of time for Ratchford and I'm sure both he and Sidlow will soon get their chance.
?
OK I'll wait three years then

Nobody is saying wait three years, but to start panicking after three games is ludicrous.Give the coach a chance to sort it

FFS
'" As several Cas fans have posted on here, they struggled at first last season. Now look at them.
I've watched Salford for over 40 years and apart from the 70s when we were bankrolled by Brian Snape, and a few flashes in the pan in between,Salford have always been the same.Coaches come, coaches go,players come, players go,Salford struggle in the top division and are too good for the lower tier. The common denominator over all these years has been the poor amateur scene around the Salford area and poor crowds, meaning we've not been able to afford the top players who would have made a difference. We are in the same position now, and unless we get an influx of cash from the stadium(i'm not holding my breath on that one) we'll continue to struggle to compete.
P.S One thing worse than watching Salford live is listening on the radio or watching Ceefax. Now THAT will drive you mad.

| Salford were rubbish saturday, there are no easy games in superleague now, win your home games nick the odd one away and see where we go from there.
As for going/not going hand on heart his salford side arnt that bad, compaired to some of the rugby served up by the shirts in the past, the reason it is poor is because its all about percentages with McRAE there isnt a flow in the moves its all very bitty.
Its not the Salford i fell in love all them years ago with but times change, people change, players change, coaches change, you have to adapt the way to feel best to get the most of out of it for you, if that means looking at the bigger picture in life then so be it.
Salford is a massive part of everyones lives cut it out and you become another person IMO

You clearly didn't see the incident!! No flares were thrown onto the pitch!!
Before anyone starts i'm not condoning objects being thrown onto the pitch! Some people need to get their facts right though before things get massively blown out of all proportion as in this case!

| You guys shouldn't worry too much. Last year Cas were on the back of some horrendous scorelines and it's taken a long time to get us back up to speed, but we're improving. The step up from NL1 to SL is massive, and you can't expect your team to be matching SL sides after 3 matches. Just give it time.

| Having missed the last two matches to take up my duties as a "football Hooligan" nice from a LUFC fan, I can only comment on what i have read and been told.
My first comment and this has not changed since day one McRae is not a good coach, he talked on Friday night about how weak both Wakefield ( a team we could only break twice the week before) and Warringtons defences were, but he has not done anything to make ours stronger. He talks a great game on Sky, perhaps its time he was full time at the Willows doing his first job not disappearing the afternoon before a match.
We need a coach to give the team and Club 100% then we will get 100% from the players, what would the new lads think?
It is early days, but I can see Luke Dorn scoring a hat trick against us on Friday unless a lot and I mean a lot of work is done this week TV appearances permitting.

Fair point. We could've done ourselves a big favour doing that. And don't get me wrong, I'm sick of seeing the same terrible, flat rugby week in week out. I'm just sick of constant negativity on here and in the stands. Let's give it least a few more weeks and see where we are before having a in. After all, did anyone really expect us to push out of the bottom three this year?
