Whens the official date of the start of construction work now then?

Still struggling to get over the disappointment that if I want to stand I have to be behind the sticks. I can't help feel that could ruin the impact we have as supporters. Gutted !!!

That's just you and your Mrs the rest of the none trouble making fans who wish to stand up can do so on the half way line

looking at 3d show fans are standing up in the main stand's seats
so maybe the club knows what we will do

Standing is the important aspect for me.

Personally i prefer to have a "end" like the stretford end or the KOP, its great being on a side in the shed but im sure we'll be able to "influence" important decition making by referees better when behind a goal rather than on the side.

does anyone know what the standing:seating ratio is? Is there not to be any standing along the sides at all?

I'm sure mention was made of adding in a standing area to one of the sides in a later phase, although I can't quite remember.

It is disappointing that there won't be any down the sides at first but I'm just happy with the thing getting built to be honest.

I don't think I'd move behind the sticks just to stand. I couldn't watch every game of rugby from that position, much prefer to view from the side. With football it's the opposite and I prefer to watch from behind one of the goals.

isnt there a meeting being organised so we can ask questions like this?

@ Anfield in the tunnel there is a sign which says "this is anfield" this is a useful sign to have when the ground is in full swing visiting players get a bit twitchy with the wall of noise which gives liverpool an advantage, im not asking for any walls to be knocked down but can we have a sign which says "this is salford"? In the tunnel area because phycologically it might give us an advantage?

I dont see that just having a sign in the tunnel will put fear in to the opposition, i would have thought that the controlled aggression from the boys on the pitch will be the only way that the wind will be put up them.Or a very vocal K.O.T.S getting the new shed going.

Yes because that sign's turned Anfield into an absolute fortress this season.

I just think it might give us an advantage when entering the field, not this season maybe but im sure some players underperform when the kop and the rest of the ground is bouncing, the sign is important to build this pressure up imo

the willows is brilliant but i feel we are hindered a little trying to get behind the boys

1) the shed roof keeps the sound in which is good for us but i feel the players dont get the full benefit of the noise and when we are attacking the posts were 40 yards away so after the up n down bounce of the noise its not that loud

2) the northstand is very impressive and large compared to the the rest of the ground, get it a third full and you get a wall of sound effect with away fans their right on top of the try line might trigger the odd error by us.

Hopefully the designs of the roofs will allow the noise to be projected onto the field, nobody has moaned about it so i presume it in theory would work giving us an advantage.

How about a sign that says "This is Salford. Do you want your car minding?"

Yeah that would do so they spend 80 minutes wondering if their car is in one piece rather than being focused on the game

Is the name the Willows being totally abandoned when we relocate?? seems like a massive shame if it is the case.

Good question, do we get chance to name the new roads around the ground? Would be good to have a "willows Road" or "salford Road" or Sir John Wilkinson Way? would be a nice touch

Anyone notice on the CGI that the stadium had "home of Salford Reds" emblazoned on it across the entrance. Are we going to lose the city part of our name when we move stadium?

I think someone asked the question on Facebook when the video was posted and they said it was just an oversight on the part of the creators of the video.

Sorry I though that was a link to the club's website article. I was looking at the Buckingham website it appears they built the MK Dons stadium and are currently building Brighton's.

Yeah two really good projects, shame really that ours won't look as good as either of them. Having said that we haven't got a spare £95m that its cost Brighton for their or the £48m for Stadium:mk although cost per seat is still fairly high for £26m only 12k capacity.

I heard this is due to putting in the extra foundations for phase 2 and 3 during phase one. My guess is the following phases may happen when the JV makes profit from the future retail should there be a demand for a higher capacity. Some people are saying there will never be another phase but why go to all the added expense in phase one if they have no intention of expanding it?
