If everything the Doc said re loans, advanced payments and CSA enforcement then Locke and a few others would seem to be on very dodgy foundations. How a player can take to anti social media and say the club is scum for not paying him when the club have been instructed by the CSA to deduct money from his wages is incredible, does make you wonder if the players who have sort legal advise on this have been entirely honest with their legal counsel.

A little to much swearing for something so important but you get the impression that the Doc has now drawn a line in the sand and will fight all accusations against him/the club.

More should be made of Tim Sheens coming full time, a master stroke for the club and possibly the game as a whole in the UK.

Harris also to progress massively as a coach, for me our best performances this season were when Sheens was over and I doubt it was a coincidence.

Really? What I heard was Salford has accepted Locke's resignation and that MK hopes he continues in SL but would be setting his legal team on him (amongst every other person he's ever come across) in respect of damages for his resignation.

I don't see how who he plays for from this point has any relevance on him offering his resignation and it being accepted?

That’s how I understood it. Locke is now free to ply his trade elsewhere. However, the club will be pursuing him for damages i.e. compensation for his worth in the market had he been placed on the transfer list.

If I were a Salford fan two things would worry me. Firstly the incessant use of the word I when talking about choosing and signing players.
Secondly, and much more importantly, the fact that marwan has "loaned" the club money. He hasn't spent his money on the club, or even invested it in the club, but loaned it to the club. So what happens when he demands that The loan is repaid???

THIS is the most important factor. The club are 100% reliant on him for EVERYTHING and as a London Broncos fan, I promise you, that will not end well!

I 'm sure this would apply to almost every professional club in British rugby league. If Owners/Directors in the sport withdrew their financial support in terms of loans, sponsorship and guarantee's these clubs would fail quickly without a new benefactor. SL teams should all be financially sustainable with the TV revenue, but wealthy owners will always find it too difficult to resist the temptation of using their own money/financial support in the quest for their teams improvement or glory.

Does anyone know if Harri's contract does expire at the end of this season? If the club don't keep him on I'd say that Sheens might advise the Doc to look at Geoff Toovey now it's been decided Manly won't be retaining him for next season.

In my opinion the Doc and Sheen's should sit down and review his position at the end of the season. There are at least 12 games to play and I would like to see how well he can do with hopefully more players to select from over a prolonged period.

I don't agree it would apply in quite the same way. Yes you are correct if owners withdrew support many would struggle - my own being one. But as far as I'm aware Davy spends his money - it isn't LOANED.
If Marwan was to decide to chuck in the towel and demand his cash back - that leaves Salford in a worse position they were in previously!

I can see the logic in that, the issue would be that if who is brought in decides significant squad changes are required the options open to him become fewer the longer we wait.

I can only hope that Sheens has already done some of the spade work on NRL based players and that decisions are made when he arrives.

I didn't say every club Jools did I? Some clubs will obviously be more financially reliant on their benefactors than others. As you say about Huddersfield, they would struggle to maintain their current status without a new benefactor, should Ken Davy decide in the future to walk away from the club.

Of course its loaned jools. Ken Davy, Calvert at Cas, Eamonn, O`Connor, maybe Moran as well put money as Directors Loans. Whether they ever take them back (Calvert did) depends on the cicumstances.

Perfectly correct EB. At the moment, if Dr K walked he'd get nothing back as all the money injected has gone on running the business and paying off the previous company debt. From the last accounts I think the Cash at Bank figure was just a few thousand!

IFIRC all the money that Wilky put in was done as loans to be repaid to his pension fund which of course never happened.

Yes I don't think any benefactors in RL realistically expect to see their money again. It's just a very expensive hobby.
