No we don't have any sewage works near our's.We are surrounded by terraced houses.

There's a sewage works in Weaste too.

IIRC in the initial plans way back, there was something regarding the sewerage works along the lines of they were to be house indoors (In other words just bang a roof over them) due to, and I don’t know this as gospel, that the one in Urmston was one of the biggest uncovered sewerage in Europe and due to new laws it could have to be covered.

Not sure what happened about that but that was a big selling point of the stadium plans with the local residents the fact that the stadium would hasten this action and make lives better with a little more fresh air during the summer.

The Davyhulme site is already capped ( Done soon after the Trafford Centre was opened ) and now the ' by-product ' is being recycled into 'bio-gas' the new posh name for methane.. which will also be used to generate it's own electricity . so maybe our the Stadium could run on all the thrown at us

I know one of the site managers at lang Orouke he said they were fav's for the contract, plus they so seem to do alot for the council and alot of stadium work e.g the quadrants at old trafford.

There was work going on on site yesterday, which is a bit odd as the remediation contract ended on Friday (or was scheduled to) and a friend passed on Friday afternoon and said that all vehicles and machinery had gone off site. From what I saw yesterday there were a number of (possibly concrete) tube sections sticking up around what looks like the perimeter of the stadium buildings and two in the area that looks like the pitch - some kind of drainage prep work possibly?

That will be the pilers ready to put in the concrete pillers underneath the ground, this is what the steel framework will be fixed to, if you did see what you say u saw iain then we're very very close to the start of the building work.

We may have some low quality pics taken from a cameraphone in a moving car so if they are clear enough I'll post them up tonight. The reason I thought of drainage instead of piles was because 2 are where the pitch looks as if it will be.

It must be Starbug vandalising the site to slow down the building schedule.

Putting structures up doesnt sound like a "monday" kind of job to me tho, recon its a midweek effort

Now the levelling / prep works contract has officially finished the large earth moving plant will have gone .You should look first for drainage works , then piling works for the main foundations , there should be a seemless changeover I would think .

The qyuality is worse than I expected but you can see two things on the pitch area and there are more dotted around the perimiter of the stadium which you struggle to make out.

Oh, and does anyone know if any (double deck) buses go over Barton Bridge?

I think the buses use the swing bridge (Barton Road Bridge) rather than the motorway bridge (Barton High Level Bridge, as it is officially known).
