| SBW, A monster in both codes at the peak of his powers, at Salford  . Although it was a disaster, at least he actually turned up and played for us, once against you lot if I remember correctly and lost! Mason that is. |

I don't think we'll sign him either but I don't think a KR fan should come on here laughing at us when you've just lost all your best players like we did last season! The fact is if there wasn't a salary cap we could afford to sign him no problem. IF a 'Marquee' player rule comes in you can count on one thing, the Doctor WILL pay whatever it takes to bring a top line world renowned player to the City of Salford stadium!

It must be gutting for some of the more mediocre teams in the league to see some one come in to Salford and start flashing the cash. Exciting times ahead at Salford. I heard the SBW is practically a done deal although the money I heard involved in the deal seems ludicrous. |

We have lost our best player in Dobbo that is all paea is class I admit and I am gutted hes going to FC but he can be replaced, Paterson is wanting to go back to aus cos of his family. Other than that who else is going? I come on here to see if there was a thread already about next weekend and had a look at the posts, that is all.

There was an article in rugby league world about the possibility of SL clubs being allowed a 'marque' signing. If, and that's a BIG IF, we had any chance of signing SBW, there must be an announcement due soon on the rules for signing a marque player.

Although i cant really see SBW coming to Salford it wouldnt be because of money.The guy is a bit of a maverick who is well known for doing the unusual.His current contract at Roosters is worth 550K Aus Dollars,around £334K at current exchange rates.Theres a strong case to be made that he brings a lot more financially to the teams he joins.
Sky TV and the RFL would be falling over themselves if he came to SL.Think you would see the cameras at Salford a lot more than what we currently get.

The Good Doctor couldnt have `Sonnybillwilliams` as a Horse name as it has 17 letters & only 16 allowed so would suggest `sonnybillwill` would be a sound alternative. Cue Salford Salary Cap cheats from Widnes & Cas fans. |

As I've always said since it was confirmed we had signed him if he stays fit I'll be properly happy but unfortunately I can't see the happening due in the main to the punishment he has taken in his illustrious career.
Think Morley will prove more of an investment off the field than on it. |

You'll struggle to find a Wire fan who isnt bemused at us letting Carvell go... again he outperformed Moz on the field at the weekend, hes been immense for us.
Sad thing is both looked absolutely gutted at full time....both will be missed Moz has been a legend for the club, but Carvell for me has been the more effective prop forward....
