If this comes off it is a major coup for Salford and I can see you going in the direction that Warrington have since they got took over. 3-5 years, with the right squad, right coaching staff and right owners and board and there's no telling how successful Salford could be.

Having played for Salford Academy once upon a time I do have a soft spot for Salford and as such I hope this comes off.

According to Radio Manchester, Dr Koukash is hoping to be at the friendly tomorrow night.

Radio Manchester are reporting that he's in negotiation with Salford City Council and Peel Holdings to buy the club [iand the stadium[/i, as if he's going for them both together.

Could just be sloppy journalism, or it could be that things have moved on from the 'buying the club and negotiating an improved rental deal' stage.

Think the MEN also reported this. Could end up with our own ground after all...

He's booked a hospitality box for his friends & family for the game tomorrow.

One question I would have is would he be buying the ground in the name of Salford RLFC or in his own right?

Strikes me that if it's the latter we could end up in a worse position than we are now if he wanted to change the usage of the site to say football. Might be nice if (I use the word if as I'm not convinced there is much to this) he did buy it that the council use it's part ownership of the ground to insert a clause into the sale that Salford are primary tenants for a specific period.

Perhaps best if we didn't try to micro analyse every aspect of the deal so leave the professionals to it.
For the record,we couldn't be worse off than we are at the moment. Without a deal we are in administration.

I think it's extremely exciting. I'm a Wigan fan, but I went to Salford University and introduced my friends to rugby league by bringing them down to the Willows and showing how good our sport is compared to others. The prospect of losing Salford for good didn't sit right with me. Interview was shown on Granada TV tonight where he stressed the importance of the club having a 'home' .Wouldn't enter into specifics but said the club would own not the Dr. if it went ahead.

Can anyone confirm if Securitas are still going to be main shirt sponsors? Would hope if they are that new shirts are all but ready to go and at the very least the team roll out in them at the first game in a couple of weeks.

Was at an airport in Belgium the other week and the security staff were all wearing Securitas outfits so wonder if we can get all there staff into Salford shirts now that would be good publicity
