I don't think the RFL's masterplan includes Salford; they'd much rather have us branded as Manchester RL I bet. The next 3 years are crucial for Salford, we have to get it right. If we don't, I doubt the RFL would keep us in Super League.

I believe Salford are only interested if said brother is currently injured.

Well, well, well, what a surprise with having PV in the hotseat, i half expected a terrible performance due to this appointment and the shoddy recruitment of cast off's joining us pre-season but to lose in the manner we did truelly is unforgiveable. If Leigh can score 36 points against us at home it's a sad state of affairs, friendly or not.The Barton boat JW is sailing surely is sinking into the bowel's of The Manchester Ship Canal. Bad appointment after appointment after appointment x15. We turned down PV's application 1st time around last year, so why appoint him this time when MP saw the light. It's not just PV's fault though it's the whole club from top to bottom. I'm sooo glad this has happened today because any type of win today would of papered over the cracks. I hope the rent boy MR is eating his words.

Quite frankly today was abysmal from start to finish. I don't like to draw too many conclusions from trial/friendly matches but there have to be some serious questions asked of a more or less complete Super League team getting thoroughly taken apart by a semi-professional team that was thrown together at short notice. That's before we even consider that this was the first competitive game at our new home. This is essentially the same team that so spectacularly failed to give our previous home the send off it deserved, the fact that they were so woeful today shows what a complete lack of respect they obviously have for our club. They didn't even compete. Playing for Salford RLFC is just a job for the majority of those who pulled on a red jersey today but if they can't appreciate there is an element of responsibility towards the history of the club then they are perhaps even thicker than I thought.

Off the pitch we failed to demonstrate why any business should consider getting involved with us. If you think Peel et al. are only interested in having a unique place to "do business' then you are incredibly naive. A competent executive (something we are woefully in need of) will only want to entertain prospective clients or partners somewhere that has a certain level of caché (note how Manchester city only recent managed to finally fill all their executive boxes for a game). Watching our collection of average Rugby League players get taken apart with a clear view of Barton flyover and our three Lego set stands does not under any circumstances qualify as an impressive to "do business" regardless of how fresh the paint may smell. The fact that (a) the fabled Stadium Management Company couldn't keep the lights on and (b) the back of the South Stand was closed because if you stand on the back row you can see straight in to the ladies toilets (giving an element of credibility to the suggestion that the three smaller stands were designed by the work experience kid) can't be blamed on the rugby club (what can, these days?) but it does sum the day up nicely. I believe the rugby club/SMC couldn't even get the Club Shop open for the first game. Having the resident Bitter pose the "why so serious" question at the end is a symptom of so many of the things that are wrong with our club.

At least Leigh fans can take something positive out of the day: it looks like the team they have is prepared to show some fight and pride.

The way things are at Salford seem very similar to our circumstances to leaving Hilton Park and moving to the LSV. Poor season failing to do justice to the old place and then managing to cock up everything possible with the new gaff. We had better times not long afterwards though, at least on the pitch anyway, so ride it through and things will look up eventually.

Panic over. A mr s simms on his way to france with two other clowns was able to stop this tidal wave by splitting the wave into streams,but he could do nothing for the cyclist who was last seen doing a wheely down the M6 at over 100 mph,with is salford scarf flying and his rattle in his hand screaming where are his backslappers gone.

I assume that DI and MM are total idiots you spent all winter saying you were giving up and not wasting your money and then go and spend £12 today. I went along today to a friendly that was designed to be a further test of the new stadium as far as i was concerned and see how the team might practice a few things. Thats what friendlies are for, alright most of the team did't turn up, removing the captainacy from Holdsworth hasn't improved his game but he has only been here a week so there is time. I don't read too much into friendlies in any sport eg in August United beat City in a friendly a couple of months later City put 6 past united.
It is a testing time but by the start of the real season they might be playing as a team, I will still be there but from your posts DI and MM you two will not, only to re-appear when the team starts winning.
So to sum up today Salford were very poor Leigh played very well, the floodlights failed (possible victims of some far east betting syndicate) you get a really good view from the west stand.
I won't be there for the next two games because of clashes with other appointments, but i will be there for the first league game, and just for the record we lost our opening game at the willows back in 1901.
Oh and just got back in after a Saturday night out, unlike DI and MM who sit in front of a laptop all night adding friends on Facebook but never seeing them. Good night ladies.
