Anyway, I was talking to a Wiganer who claimed to know Ratchford's dad. It seems that they have offered him a 3 year deal and it seems like a done deal! The main comment was "he's a Wigan lad!"

Can't really blame him wanting to play for his hometown club who just happen to be champions! What will set Ratch apart if this is true will be his attitude and effort for the rest of this season. If he puts his body on the line for us right thru then I will happily say thank you and good luck!!!!

Last thing we need is any Coley like antics!!! Don't think Ratch is made that way tho!!!!

It's good that there seems to be a good spirit amongst the lads though.

Never said it was gospel, just adding to the info that some people had posted and saying that you could understand the lads position. If you read my post carefully the use of the words "claimed to know his dad" and "If this is true" would of course show that I had not just swallowed it like a naive teenager!

I do think we need to show Ratch what he means to the club and fans but still be prepared for the lad to move on considering the career move it could be and his hometown club.

Well, if he has signed for Warrington, then I hope they can turn him into a better player than he is now because judging by his last few games for us, I remain to be convinced about him. Far too often he takes the wrong option and today he was the perpetrator of many of our turnovers early in the tackle count and some wild and innaccurate passing that's (including today) has been going on for weeks. Repalcement for Lee Briers? I really don't think so.

Ultimately if a club with more resources, better current track record and a better set up than we have come in for a player who is out of contract, then who can blame that player for moving on. For whatever reason, Stef has stagnated at Salford for the last year or so - if Wire or the Pies with a better coaching team than we have (AT THE MOMENT) are in for him and he goes then I wish him the best of luck
