Maybe they've been told he won't be here next season?? Could partly explain how and why we've been signing good players. I don't know if this is true whatsoever, and I doubt it, but it could have something to do with it.

Really dont know why I am rising to it but here goes.
I originally said
"I enjoyed myself at Crusaders for some bizzare reason, but yesterday I could not bring myself to go and give more money and time to a team who just can not give a fook"
To explain
1/I enjoyed my Visit to North Wales.
2/ I decided not to go to Huddersfield as I have seen enough leatherings this year.
3/I had other things to spend my money and time on on Sunday, maybe if I had said this it would have been clearer for you?
4/The present players have stopped trying and are just waiting for the end of the season.
Hope this clears things up.

| My Boss put it rather well today.
He is a big Wigan fan and knows his RL. He says better than SM would struggle with Salfords team at the minute and think that is without doubt true. Think that SM has lost the dressing room and that all that is keeping him in his job is the fact that paying his contract off would cost a considerable amount of money. He did also ask a rather valid point in who we in our current state we would attract as a new coach?.
Again something he said rang true and was rather worrying, we have without doubt recruited better for next season than we have done in some considerable time, what we don't want to happen is SM to ruin the good players we have recuited and have then jump ship at the first oppertunity.
For me if there is any possible oppertunity and there is a replacement of a certain qaulity available I think letting SM go would be the best outcome for all.

| Also think that SM saying in the press that our youngsters are being outclassed is not going to be a moral booster for them. Think Wilky will be unhappy with that kind of statement when there are kids who are being thrown in at the deep end surrounded by players who are leaving the club and clearly have stopped careing, thus ensuring they don't have the onfield guidance they very much need.

| The question for me is
Can you see improvement each week, month, year?
Can you see what McRae is trying to achieve?
Can you see what direction the club is moving in?

| Quote ="Fatboys Limb"I'm not McRae's biggest fan but nor am I desperate for us to get rid of him. I think we've sone as expected this year (finished in the bottom three) and very much doubt whether any other coach could've taken us any further.
I can understand fans' frustrations at the recent drubbings we've endured but with nothing to play for, several key injuries, several players leaving and lots of youngsters playing, it's no surprise.
I think it would be daft to get rid of McRae now (or even to blame him fully for our recent poor results) but agree that next year will be a real test of his ability as a coach.
What does really concern me about McRae, as mentioned above, is the way he talks about the team/club/fans in interviews - it's almost identical to Gary Megson when he was at Wanderers and ultimately led to his downfall. I just wish McRae would show more passion, loyality and/or dedication to the Reds.'"
Mcrae is showing loyalty he is honouring is contract and people show passion
in different ways,I bet Mr Mcrae wishes some of the players showed some passion, some of players we have at the club think they are better than they are that is why he is getting rid.

| The facts remain, McRae took us down with about 12 games left in his first season, we thought we had brought in a first class coach but he decided he would change nothing! We bounced back from national league one playing a percentage game, I can understand the first season back in Super league struggling to finish off the bottom, most super league coaches kick on in their second full season, we have gone backward, remember Holdsworth has been is get out of jail card, since he has been out we have looked s...
I show passion & commitment by attending home & away, I expect the coaching staff to do the same, not too much to ask for, I say he has once again written this season off, like he did when he first came to the club, no thought about those fans who continually support the club.
Remember if we don't sort this mess out quickly with our dwindling support all this could be academic, There is an ever dwindling band of hardcore & looking at some of the comments on here even some of our supports think we are stupid going to watch our team.
We seem to think we are safe because of the new ground, lose more support then we might lose a bit more than we bargained for?
Next season is so important those of you who think McRae is the right man, I hope you are right!

Maybe they are hoping the board will see sense and get rid. If there was still promotion/relegation he would've gone last year after Warrington scored 50 unanswered points against us in the second half.

| I don't actually think anyone can give a sound and reason why SM is still headcoach other than the financial one.
Simple matter he must know he's treading water till the end of his contract, our great hope next season is that he wants to prove he can still cut it with a decent sqaud and earn a contract with another team. Doubt it but you live in hope.

Trying (really hard!) to find a silver lining, it just occured to me that perhaps us keeping McRae longer than his performance justifies has saved the club some money (not having to pay him off, not having to spend time/money on recruiting another coach) and that the money saved has been used to recruit a much stronger squad next year?!?
Therefore McRae is the reason we have a much stronger squad next year??!!?!

| Anyone up for another shocking stat? Well if not tough you're having one anyway.
SM has been in charge for 64 Super League games, now are you ready for this?
We have conceaded;
60+ Points = 4 (Times)
50+ Points = 4
40+ Points = 7
30+ Points = 18
Now turning it round we have scored the game by..
60+ Points = 0
50+ Points = 0
40+ Points = 1
30+ Points = 4
The prosecution rest m’Lord. Nice bloke, crap coach!

| Not so much of a honeymoon so much as a soured marriage where the soon to be divorced couple can't afford to move out of the house.
The comment that somes up McRae for me ' from a Wigan fan ' Got skin thicker than a Rhino , can happily guest on numerous Sky SL broadcasts & point out where the top 4 are going wrong , yet when his team, sorry [iour team[/i are being battered by 50 odd points will shake his head and say he hasn't a clue what went wrong ... the Phrases Quote I'm going nowhere '" Quote I've a year left of my contract and i've no intention of walking away'" are tantamount to "pay me off if you want shut of me" rather than a belief he will get it right next year. Andy Gregory wasted on Guinness would inspire more confidence.
I don't actually blame him for yesterdays result , you have to blame the Chairman & directors , they hired him and they haven't fired him

| Im new to scarlet turkey even though ive been following salford at the willows for many years as i know many of the loyal fans have.
I would just like to congratulate Shaun McRae for making a laughing stock of the club we know as Salford reds.
Shaun McRae has been at Salford for three years now. How could any self respecting coach of any league club justify what hes hasnt been able to do over the time of his contract i suspect if it was any other club in sport never mind rugby league he would have had his p45 in the post long ago. Brian noble make a team in 6 weeks and i dont think McRae has the insight or passion to be able to muster up anything from the players. To me it seems like Shaun McRae has taken the club backward to a point where salford would be lucky to finish second from bottom. Salfords defensive record says it all the most points scored against in any season in super league by any team. We do have some good players at salford and some good youths coming through but his man management skills are none existant. We have some good new signings for next season but you have to ask yourself are they using salford as a steping stone to bigger things or using salford as a swansong before retirement. (richie myler springs to mind) But with McRae lack of skills how good would they be after there contract is up even if McRae has just one season left as coach how will his negativity with is tactics (loosly used) come across to the players coming in could be the same as hes done to so many.
Its time McRae hung up his boots and let a new generation take over with passion for the club. ( AND NOT MILWARD HES THE SAME ILK AS MCRAE)
As for Wilkinson theres a old cliche " If you pay peanuts you get Monkeys"
Bring back the good times.

| Its a results based business and on that fact alone he should go.
Over the years he has got rid of the older players and brought in ones he has wanted.
The team we have now apart from a few exceptions has been built by McRae.
There are some excellent players in there who for some reason or other are not playing to their potential.
We have the odd win which builds us up and then it is back to the old percentage rugby which bores the pants of us all.
He once was a good coach but that was in the old days.
Times have moved on and so should he.

| Who do people think should take over from this clown?! Darryl Powell seems to have done an awesome job at Featherstone for me I would like to see a young British coach preferrably. Iestyn Harris is a bright up and coming young boss. The Rhino has done a tremendous job at Batley. He got the sack after a few poor performances but nowhere near as bad as this waste of space. Lets face it though, he is still going to be in charge this time next year!! Hopefully he will prove us all wrong but I very, very much doubt it!!

| i have nowt against Harrison but we always remember the past as better than it was: "He got the sack after a few poor performances" is simply not true. He got us to the top of the table then we won nothing for half one season and continued in such poor form for the next season until he was sacked. It was 12 months with little to applaud but that we had done so well before then.
Maybe he's worth a second chance in SL but he is not the Messiah ([size=50or a naughty boy[/size)
