| Quote ="braytontiger"some of your fans tonight were simply awful, the fans throwing the bottles have no place in our game same has the idiots with the flares.
i stood behind your so called fans in both halves and to be honest it was like a scene from a danny dyer programme all that was misssing was caged fencing penning your fans in.if this is what you bring to super league then you are very fortunate to have a franchise.
im sure there are decent reds fans about but not on tonights evidence,i saw no familys wearing the colours of salford only idiots from 80s football.
'"
I don't think you can compare people throwing bottles at players etc to people holding a smoke flare up, what harm were they causing to anyone? Unless which I accept towards they end someone did throw it, what is the problem with holding them, people were just trying to create a good spectical/atmosphere.

| if you think holding flares in a ground or even throwing them at players is fine, same has throwing bottles at players, officials is ok then that completley proves what im saying is fans like salford has no place in super league.
i saw very few kids wearing salford colours tonight and i cant say has im suprised given the numskills that attended the game following salford, only an idiot would put their kids in the middle of that lot.

Knock a good few years off that and you have my life-long supporting of Salford, it still hard to witness, especially when you hear people in my family discussin the glory days of the 60's and 70's, obviously no team can be successful forever. But to think we have gone from that, to what we are now.
Although JJ don't get too disheartend just yet, we are only three games into a three season contract.

| Great so we don't desreve place in sl co we didn't have enough kids in replica shirts at the game tonight!!!(didn't know that was part of the criteria?)
Also if you haven't noticed(and we will be the first to admit we aren't as much s a rugby league strong hold town as much as some others!)most kids in Salford have first priority of following the worlds greatest football team and is a hard thing to try and prie them away from it!Perhaps we need united to turn e over the next few years for them all to lose interst and start switching over to rugby league! Can't see it happening though

I don't have a problem with the smoke flares, I like you have a problem with people throwing bottles, but you have to realise. I'm not entirely sure, out of maybe 500? Salford fans about 10/20 threw items onto the pitch.

I knew someone would bring that up, sorry it had to be you Danny but it's a smoke screen covering up the cracks. Like I've already said I didn't go tonight unlike your goodself and others but from what I've heard and read we're in for another 2007 season. I haven't booked perpignan yet and was going to tomorrow but can you or anyone else give me good reason why I should waste my money

| It just goes to show how opposing fans react;-
From Cas:
There were 14 Salford fans there (No children) every one of them had a very dangerous smoke flare and they all threw bottles on the pitch. It was a disgrace, it was like a scene from the worst days of football hooliganism.
From Salford:-
There were 500 there from Salford, the usual mixture. Some had brought red smoke flares to create atmosphere. One idiot was running up and down shouting and swearing ( he should have been thrown out when the stewards spoke to him at half time). Salford played poorly and there were a couple of fans who threw plastic bottles at the Salford players, and one threew a smoke flare. I have no idea how many children were there in Salford shirts, but there were lots in Castleford shirts, most of them well behaved, but some were foul mouthed and seemed to have no parents around to keep them under control.
Many decent fans from Salford and Castleford had conversations about how Cas were in this position last year, and it takes time to build a side for SL. Many said good luck for the rest of the season etc etc.

Not a bad reflection of the "Salford" opinion. [uMy[/u Cas opinion is on a very similar vein. Not sure how many Salford fans but the majority there to support their team. There was the element of the "idiot" factor and, yes, we all have them. In 25 years of watching Cas I can remember only one other incident that was worse than last night and that was the Hull fans at Headingley in some semi final or other. The small group of Salford fans that caused the trouble last night should have been sorted out by our incompetent stewards at half time - the big guy with the goatee, the dark haired lad who was tanked up and pacing around looking for trouble (credit to the Cas fans for not biting) and the "father of the year" who was eventually ejected and his poor son had to go too. The eventual "flare & bottle" scenario could have been averted if our stewards had "balls".
I have also slated various quarters of the Cas faithful in the past for behaviour and comments that are inappropriate for a family sport so it's not just one way.
Finally, on the issue of segregation - I think all fans should be able to sit or stand where they want but I also feel that they should be able to feel comfortable wherever that is. However, I hope we're not in the same end at Murrayfield as the idiots last night. Any other Salford fans I'm fine with.

Gawd your going back a while here, and it didnt exactly happen like that.
As for the smoke bombs there illegal at any sporting venue in the UK, when they told me at the beginning of the match they had them i was a bit dubious like, but personally i dont mind them if there used "properly" not being thrown onto the pitch tut tut... you know who you are.
