| Whilst Salford were getting battered 52-4 at the Galpharm yesterday, FC United kicked-off their new league campaign with a useful 2-0 away win at Marine F.C.
Next FC game is home to Nantwich Town on Wednesday evening (K.O. 7.45 p.m.)

Going to watch Chorleigh at Curzon tonight - Salford did well against us last year so expect a near-identical set up from Chorleigh to be honest. Stick five in midfield and you'll win.

| A much improved performance from Salford City tonight resulted in a well deserved 2-1 victory at Prescot Cables with the Ammies goals coming from Rhodri Giggs and Dean Cooper. Prescot scored a late penalty with both sides having a player sent off in a frantic finale. Salford might well have had a much more comfortable margin of victory if not for the heroics of the home keeper who made four excellent point blank saves.

| Just back from the 'Tangerine Club' where I've been celebrating Salford City's excellent 2-1 FA Cup victory over Chorley in the FA Cup Preliminary Round. After Steve Foster had had a perfectly good looking first half goal ruled out out for a supposed infringement which was then followed up by a second half penalty miss one could have thought that it wasn't to be Salford's day. However a Matty Cross inswinging cross on 63 minutes was adjudged to have crossed the line to give the Ammies a 1-0 lead before Chorley levelled the score just five minutes later. With just a minute remaining and a replay looking a likely outcome Salford booked their place in the next round when Rhodri Giggs hammered home a 90th minute winner to send the Moor Lane faithfull delirious.
Next game is at home on Bank Holiday Monday 30th August ko 3:00pm when Clitheroe are the visitors in the Evo-Stik Division One North.

| FC are currently top of the NPL Premier Division (I'm not using the new sponsor's name, no chance) on goal difference with three wins out of three. The win at Marine was followed by a 1-0 at home to Nantwich on Wednesday followed by a 5-1 win at home to Retford United yesterday.
Next game is away at Ashton United tomorrow.

Why, do you consider Evo-stik's adhesive products to be vastly inferior to those of Unibond?

Arf. Naah, they're just taking the p*ss in terms of pushing their own brand on everyone. Their profile is far bigger than Unibond's ever was - even down to the fact that, if the subs and management aren't wearing Evo-stick branded training gear during the warm up and the entirety of the game, then the club get fined a daft amount of money.

If you want a laugh and get the chance, have a look at the back of the NPL handbook for this year.

| After an extremely poor first half display and trailing 2-0 on the hour mark to Clitheroe the Ammies appeared to be out for the count until Steve Foster on 69 minutes and Dean Cooper on 86 minutes looked to have given Salford City an unlikely share of the points with yet another late comeback. However, an appalling decision by the linesman who failed to flag for a blatant off-side position saw the visitors steal a last minute winner. Not surprising then in the circumstances that the card happy referee, who had booked five Salford players and just one of Clitheroe's, and his linesmen failed to appear in the clubhouse after the game choosing instead to take their post match refreshments in the officials cabin.

| A last minute equaliser from Radcliffe Borough at Stainton Park denied Salford City a victory and a top six league placing after Steve Foster had shot the Ammies ahead just before the break. But, just as they did last Saturday at home to Clitheroe, Salford proved to be the architects of their own downfall by failing to slow the game down, play keep ball in the corners and run the time down. Absolutely gutted.
Curzon Ashton are Salford's next opponents in a league fixture at Moor Lane on Tuesday 7th September ko 7:45pm. As mentioned in a previous post the FA Cup will be making an appearance before the game and there will be an opportunity for fans to have their photo's taken with the world famous trophy.

| Salford City fell to a disappointing 1-0 defeat to Curzon Ashton at Moor Lane last night. A dubious penalty on 52 minutes seperated the two sides with the Ammies eventually finishing with nine men as Martyn Andrews and Matty Cross both received the red card with Curzon's Luke Mack also seeing red.
Salford will certainly need to raise their game this Saturday 11th September ko 3:00pm when high flying Premier League side Northwich Victoria are the visitors to Moor Lane in the FA Cup 1st Qualifying Round.

| Despite a much improved performance from Salford City against Premier League leaders Northwich Victoria in the FA Cup at Moor Lane it was the visitors who progressed through to the next round with a scrambled goal just before the half time break. It might well have been a different outcome if the Ammies had been able to convert two glorious first half chances.
It's back to league action next Tuesday night when Salford City travel to West Yorkshire side Garforth Town.

| Salford City's loss of league form continues to disappoint as they went down 2-1
at previously winless and basement club Garforth Town. A Ben Beresford equaliser on the half hour looked to be good enough for a share of the points on an extremely blustery and windswept evening until Adam Priestley grabbed his second for the Yorkshire side just ten minutes from time after the Ammies had twice failed to clear their area.
It's back to West Yorkshire this Saturday 18th September when the Ammies travel to Ossett Albion who have yet to register a league win this season!

| A comprehensive 2-6 defeat for Salford City at previously winless Ossett Albion has started the alarm bells ringing as the Ammies continue to drop down the league to 17th place with just one win from eight league outings. Poor officiating had a hand in Ossett's two opening goals with less than ten minutes played but ultimately it was the Ammies own failings which contributed to another poor display. Rhodri Giggs and Darren Hockenhull grabbed the two consolation goals but there will need to be a massive improvement all round this coming Saturday 25th September when Chester and their large travelling support come to Moor Lane for a league fixture ko 3:00pm.

| To to post last night. Salford City were never at the races yesterday when in front of 700 spectators at Moor Lane they fell to a comprehensive 4-0 defeat by promotion favourites Chester FC. The Ammies failed to register even one decent attempt on goal and have now taken just one league point from a possible eighteen on offer.
There's another tough game for Salford this coming Tuesday 28th September, ko
7:45 pm when Skelmersdale United are the visitors to Moor Lane.

| Matters go from worse to worse for Salford City who now find themselves in next to bottom place in the league table following a dismal 5-0 home defeat tonight at the hands of Skelmersdale United. The Ammies were never in the game and now look forward to an FA Trophy cup tie at Ossett Albion this coming Saturday where they lost in the league 6-2 just over ten days ago. Clearly matters need to improve all rond and there are some big changes due in the pipeline. Watch this space.!

| Know a few lads who went tonight. They say it was really poor stuff, completely void of a midfield. Or should I say, the midfield were completely overlooked by the long ball tactics of the somewhat under pressure back line ?
A bit of a mess really, even though I don't follow it and don't know what standard they are up against.
