Surely if a player isn't in a position to honor a contract (Non Illness/injury related) he would be in breach and liable for damages. If Salford didn't honor a contract they would be dragged through the courts so why wouldn't it work both ways because Salford have invested a lot of money in the player with a transfer fee etc?

I don't think the Doc would be too chuffed if he had a banned player that cost him iro £70,000 out of his own back pocket!!

As you say it's hypothetical ,but I think there's a specific clause relating to drugs.
If so,the terms of that clause would apply.
I assume that would be instant dismissal.
Therefore the terms of the contract would have been observed.
End of.
But I could be wrong.

I'd be very interested too see who the other player is from Cas as not sure about Shenton, too many false dawns from him in the past to risk too much on him for me.

Think Smith would thrive at Cas as he did at Wakefield, think there is too much pressure and attention on him at Salford for someone with his condition.

The only other players in the Cas squad worth having are Carney and either of the two young hookers, Milner & Clarke. The rest are nothing special just hard working committed players.

Hauraki's been linked with us but I'm not sure if his best rugby is behind him. And if he is that good why did Leeds get shut?

Hauraki will be going to you and to be fair he done nothing for us this year but you will not be signing any one else from us that I am sure only reason Hauraki going is because of chase.

I would love Moimoi at Salford, still a great impact player. I'd have Willie Tonga in a heartbeat as well, had his injury problems but has shown this season he's still class.

Shenton was always a great Cas player, he just doesn't do anything for me. I'm not particularly convinced that Hauraki is worth a punt from our perspective either, although with his connection to Chase it was always probably going to happen.

This Shenton rumor was posted on here by a wakey supporter.

It's probably just a wind up with the poster knowing that several Cas fans are totally infactuated with Salford Red Devils and regularly frequent this forum. They also appear to be obsessed with the Doc on twitter and aren't backwards at coming forward at having a pop at him at every opportunity.
