And our stadium is closer to Coventry than the Ricoh.

| Unusual for a council to put money in to support a sports club but [url=http://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/news/greater-manchester-news/councils-57m-deal-to-keep-oldham-866704They Did[/url
It also seems that the stadium was only 3 sided a couple of years ago [url=http://www.oldham-chronicle.co.uk/news-features/8/news/53233/a-home-away-from-homeStory[/url
Any updates ? As some on the soccer forum suggest, they may be coming to Barton.

It would be a disaster for Latics to play outside Oldham, surely?

As long as he doesn't "rule" like her, we'll be fine.
I'd be very uncomfortable with him moving Oldham to Barton. Or, indeed, any other club, Salford City FC included. We'll see what happens.

| My error - Not for the first time !
[iHe declined to confirm the identify of the club but said it would continue to play in its current home, rather than ground-share at the Salford City Stadium, if his bid is successful[/i.

As per my earlier post hope the business development manager is 100% with Salford and another appointment is made for Oldham.

| Oldham wont be moving to Barton, it isnt Marwans style. Also they have only recently had planning permission granted for a new all singing and dancing North Stand.

| Said earlier on in the season is there anything to stop the Doc buying Oldham RL and having a much closer tie in, would be a way for us to get even more young talent signed up and have them playing competitive rugby week in week out - maybe a bid from the Doc and have Oldham use the football ground.

Oldham Moving to Barton...doubtful, but consider Salford Moving to Oldham.
After all Koukash is on record saying he needs the income from a stadium. I doubt Peel would want to sell Barton to him and he certainly doesn't have the same cash clout as Peel Holdings. It would leave an empty stadium but stranger things have happened in terms of it being demolished to make way for other buildings.
As a matter of interest if this unlikely situation arose how many of you would go to Oldham to watch Salford.??

Didn't the council offer to develop a new ground for the Roughyeds when they (the Roughyeds) relinquished their old ground at Watersheddings? I thought that was ORLFC's justification for moving out. That and the fact that Watersheddings needed a fortune spending on it. Last I heard, the Oldham RL club - fans and board - were left fuming when the council reneged on its promise.
I wonder how they feel now the council is throwing more than £5million at Latics?
(Sorry. I know it's off-topic, but I do wonder.)

Recreate the 70's . Yes please!
Glam rock, proper football ie tackling from behind, no foreign mercenaries, no Sky TV, proper pitches, no all seating, great TV programmes, cars, fashions ie flares, star jumpers, platform shoes, big collared shirts, feather cuts, hot-pants (for the girls obviously!), no mobile phones and the rest of the electronic e that we have to put up with today. I could go and on but I'm only getting more depressed thinking that I'll never relive the 'good old days' again!

We could go back and change the course of history, sterilise the parents of the bothersome nurks we get on here, convince Mr & Mrs Lockyer to swap Brisbane for Salford and all line up to laugh when Malcolm White sold Station Road.

| Bloody hell. I've been away on holiday for 4 days, proposed to my girlfriend, and I get back to hear we've signed a top-class player (possibly) and the Doc is buying a football club (possibly). Bonkers.
I'd love it if the Ammies moved to Barton. I've never actually been to watch them but this would make me much more interested in supporting a non-league football team.

| L**ds United owners are looking to sell. They have been in the 2nd and 3rd level for a few years now.
They won the league in 91-ish, which is more than any other of the clubs mentioned so far.
Hate them to bits, but have to admit there is massive potential there for an investor who can get them a few players.
Lots of racecourses in Yorkshire too.
